How do I get good at Widow? I want to pick her up and I think I have an acceptable ability to aim to start, though I have my ups and downs like anyone and can always be more consistent. But I feel like I don't have a grasp of her ins and outs. Positioning, mines, etc.

And I also have plain queue anxiety about the matter just because of the nature and pressure of the class, like "if you pick this, you better fucking do well."

Don't dive in like a retard. Eat ults, burst Rein shields from behind your own Rein, eat firestrikes. Save plenty of DM for when they have a Pharah so you can eat the pharah ult and fly into her and deactivate to make her kill herself.
Remember you can boop niggers off the edge with your shift, remember to keep an eye out for Zarya when she's about to ult, headshot roadhogs, fire your ult from angles or use it for zoning.

Get used to using your grapple as a movement ability, not just to reach high perches. It should be an instinctive, go-to option for escaping unfavourable situations (e.g. D.Va/Winston dives). Its CD is longer than most movement abilities, but still shorter than you'd think in practice.

Also as with most heroes your priority should be:
>Good DPS/Major threats to your team or to you personally (A good Pharah would be a prime example)
>Healers, especially Ana who can disrupt and countersnipe you
>Low health tanks
>Mediocre DPS
>Tanks with a healer glued to their backs

I used to think this too, until I sorta changed my mindset when playing her. I stopped playing anywhere near as aggressively as I did in season 3, worked more on confirming kills and creating openings.

When you think about it rationally, that's basically what all the tanks do. They make openings, and current 400/200 D.Va does that just fine. I can't say 300/300 would make her overpowered, but I'm perfectly content with 400/200 right now.

Different user, but I disagree. I play a lot of Winston/Reaper, and trying to dive with both are still infinitely harder than doing so with D.Va.

But the key here is, there really isn't much reason for D.Va to be flanking unless there are teammates that can follow up. All you're gonna manage to do is just feed enemy ults and distract them for a little bit.

Actually at higher levels of Uprising your Mercy needs to add a bit of DPS and just heal intermittently when people need it.

You can. I used to think this way too, just play that hero. But it is really important you review your gameplay later, so you can actually improve. You will get the lost SR back in no time
