Why is that most countries in Vicky 2 are doomed from the start of the game?

Almost all uncivs have 0 chances of becoming anything, with a few notable exceptions such as Japan and some Middle Eastern countries. The rest will end up being a part of some European blob no matter what. I know, it's historically accurate, but this means those countries are almost unplayable, since you wont survive the first 50 years of the game.

Then you got other countries that will only get to being GP if you start blobbing in China or Africa, or prestige spam. Examples: Brazil, Argentina, most European minors, etc.

So basically if you want to dominate the game you have to play USA, Japan or some European GP. The rest can't compete.

All New World countries can become decent to great through immigration. United India is a major powerhouse, Persia is ok and can westernise quickly, Arab Union is powerful too. Forming Indonesia is challenging, but it's possible and you become quite powerful. Indochinese countries are decent.

Persia can get conquered by Russia easily. In a lot of games they attack Persia. In HPM migration is broken so the only one who gets a decent amount of migration is USA, other countries will always remain low population shitholes because of this. United India is hard as fuck to form, you have to defeat the fucking UK and all their allies. Indochina will get conquered by France. Arab Union needs to form first, and for that you need to defeat the Ottomans. That is highly unlikely.

Basically unless you do a lot of gamey shit, most of those countries are not a viable option

I've only done it as Egypt, which is pretty easy since you can become GP after westernising, which can also be done early.
I think HPM has a Maghrebi Union now, which should be strong enough to form the Arab Union. Then there's Arabia, which you can form if you manage to take Hejaz from the Egyotians or the Ottomans. You're still fairly week, but should be able to prestige into GP, and form the Arab Union that way

I think I was just being retarded, I lowered autonomy in a province and it didn't go up so I thought it was broken, then I did it in 10 provinces and it went up by three.

It seems pretty fucking pointless, 70 unrest (7 in each province × 10) for 0.3 discipline and 0.3 admin efficiency is pointless, not even close to worth it. Another bravo Paradox tier mechanic.

This has happened to me in every game since patch 19. Reformed never really exists in any strength and is always wiped out by the end of the game, Protestant at least gets some countries and wins the 30YW but they also get wiped out by end of the game, so the HRE ends up dissolving because not enough viable eletors.

Playing a Castille game in EU4 and I'm stuck deciding if I should disinherit Enrique or not, doing it stops me getting a really shit leader and improves my chances of a female ruler so I can hopefully trigger Iberian Wedding.

It's my first EU4 game, I've played other Grand Strategy games (V2, CK2) but still learning my way around this game.

Yep its been about 50 years since then and there are only 2 electors now and Austria has eaten half of Germany might even form it. Im not sure if my game can handle 2 final bosses between super Austria and 1.20 Ming that even got global trade to spawn in their capitol.
