I got to test the Air superiority jets from ArmA 3 on the Dev branch. They are bretty gud. Aerial combat is actually intense when you come in dogfight range it's no Ace Combat or DCS, but it'll keep me waiting, huh How is your weekend people ? Seen any plens recently ?

Could probably get a static version to fly, might need some tweaking on the proportions for proper aerodynamics, but who knows.
Then again just about anything RC sized flies because of how overkill the engines tend to be.

It's an overcomplicated solution compared to just having them be regular old hatches. Nevermind that they would produce far more drag than a hatch.
The fact that the missile can't just fall away from the aircraft on them also doesn't help. It's just an accident waiting to happen.
It also just looks silly.

I imagine they're just some second hand thing they got from somewhere else, doubt they made their own, working stuff. What just surprises me is the CG, it means the engines have to be all the way forward almost. Or they are stupidly light and the pilot and fuel balance them out.

If Air Combat ever got remade, I want the final mission to be to fly through a firestorm / pyroclastic cloud / something with fire, with Phoenix emerging with burn marks and wing damage in the same shape as the AC1 liveries.
Bonus points if you have to fight the final boss with said damage and only 1% health.
