Starcraft died due to gross negligence.
Dota died because it's a bad game that's not fun, full of non-fun shitters tilting like 5yr old girls.

valves continual casualization oof dota is what killed it honestly. everytime valve too away a complex mechanic because shitters could spend 5 minutes learning how it worked or implemented changes where skill at the game was no longer important because the game just told or did it for you there was massive outcry from the community. valve didnt listen though because they thought casualization would bring in more new players but all it did was alienate the core audience and older continuing players. now the game is so dumbed down and retarded its basically a mix between HotS and league and no one wants to play it. if thats what players wanted they would already be playing those games. this along with the retarded UI changes and game play changes with 7.00 basically created a perfect storm and a mass exodus of players happened. the best part about it is that valve is too far invested in all these changes and reverting everything back would destroy what little confidence in the game thats left and be the final nail in the coffin as valve would have to admit that everything they have been dong in the last 2-3 years was completely wrong. dota will never recover, the game will slowly lose players unti. there is nothing left but bots people playing it for meme valve just like starcraft, wow, and tons of other games before them

I am trying to gain some more insight about dota 2.
SOme people have told me that the only good supports right now are supports that either scale well into late game, can farm quickly by themselves, or can roam early game. All other supports are apparently trash.

So which supports are trash and which supports are "good right now"?

I knwo Pudge and Mirana are the ideal support type. They can roam, they scale into late game, they can both farm quickly and efficiently. Hook is always relevant, arrow is always relevant.

Now which supports are garbage and why? I think supports like shadow shaman, bane and ancient apparition are bad right now. BKB's shit on shadow shaman and he isn't much help besides just dropping wards on towers.

Bane is the same way. Bane can sometimes do okay but again, a ult that "stuns you to stun someone else" is kinda shit in most cases. His scepter is really weak too.

AA is just a mess right now. Fragile, fills a VERY niche roll and he can't farm fast at all.

I am just looking for insight as to what supporting is and how its supposed to be played right now? As of right now, I just kind of hang out in lane with the safe lane carry because I don't understand "roaming". When I roam, I usually just end up underleveld and underfarmed.

Crowd control supps are meta and always have been meta. ES, CM, Warlock, Slardar, pos4-sk, Disruptor, WD and Rubick are hot picks which have a good impact on games.
