Laning seems alright so far; I get playing like annie and waiting for passive to be up to combo my opponent and burst him down. I just feel like I'm dropping spaghetti in team fights though. And I am supposed to be building him AD, right?

Vi is much closer to what an actual 'strong woman' is than Xayah, mainly because Vi just... is strong. And isn't obsessively trying to push herself as strong.
