the main thing is being able to partake in the CCC event
you'll also get at least 1 grail and a 3* servant for finishing each chapter
you should wait for the 1/2 AP campaign before using anything besides natural regen though

Some events require you to have completed the story up to certain chapter to participate. So far the CCC event that will come soon require you to complete the whole part 1 story (that is, complete Solomon's temple). I would recommend you to wait for when the 1/2 AP comes so you can burn through it faster.

The more far you go the more points you get so yeah.

If you don't have shit friend supports then up to Camelot. If you only have newfags with underleveled characters as friend supports then up to Okeanos.
