-65 mage bonus, so basically just wear a full melee armour set and you'll splash till the afk timer hits you which is like 5 minutes. Used to splash for six hours straight

Splashing is when you cast a spell and it doesn't hit. People will wear armour with negative magic bonus to make it impossible to hit.

Nobody knows xp/h but since its jagex its probably gonna be overpowered as fuck and really easy.

In case you missed it, the veins in the upper level are time based instead of being based on a random amount of ore

You can get all the ore you want and the vein can last up to 30 seconds, so with a high mining level you can get plenty of ore from one vein, also you can upgrade the sack for 200 nuggers to hold double the amount of paydirt

raids were a mistake.

Apparently it's going to be a non-afk, profitless method of leveling mining at around 80k xp/hr. I think it's just intended as a less autistic alternative to granite.
I'd rather just afk Motherlode Mine for 50k xp/hr and 350k gold/hr desu.

I switch between MLM if I wanna watch anime and blast mining if I have nothing better to do, they're both pretty viable and not as bad as granite. If the XP an hour is a cucked version of blast mining without being afk then what's even the point

I think it's just to provide something for people to do who aren't gonna be fighting wyverns. It's supposed to be a multi-tiered area that you access with various amounts of kudos, according to the latest steram where they introduced the 2 new jmods.

It's not too informative, it was mostly them introducing the new jmods and answering questions but they touched on balancing, they said it wasn't gonna be top tier, then didn't expand upon it, then later on talked about how they want to have different parts of the island be unlocked as you gain more kudos.
