Back Scatter, Blackbox, Phlog, Loch, Steak, Pomson, Vita-saw, DDS, 'ringer I use like half of those myself. For example I like Back Scatter, but it's not FaN or stock. I dive bomb with Phlog but it's not Backburner, lacks airblast and crouching doesn't save me everytime.
Addition to; Reload times are lengthy, if you forget reloading after engaging at medium-long distances you'll be stuck reloading the moment Medic uber'd you. As developer comment said, his weakness is embed within his rocket launcher.

If you use the Backburner correctly, you'll never need more than one or two reflects at a time. Plus, players drop ammo when they die, so as long as you're killing regularly you won't run out.
Valve says they want to fix idling before they add metal sinks. they need to make weapon drops based off of casual exp but the 24/7 achievement_idle kids would throw too much of a fit so they never will

You won't need a reflect spam to stay alive, and I use Backburner to divebomb pockets mainly, for backcrits. With Phlog, I have to stay alive until Mmmph fills up to dive again.
