Well that's how it was in ds1 with 45 dex. The version we have now in ds3 and in ds2 are heavily nerfed.

That's why people say pyro was even better in ds1. It would also poise break most builds with black flame and break shields.

From really fucked up by not inventing a sage+3 that gave same boost as 45 dex in ds1. The difference between dex cap of 40 and going all the way to 45 was insane for cast speeds.

Why the fuck does the Lothric Knight Greatsword do more damage with a sharp infusion than refined at 40/40?

The only bloody reason I have the katana was so I can kill demon prince (resist everything vaguely pyro related), fuck those guys.

Knowing I'm not the only person who gets anally fucked by that phase in particular helps.

Magic phase is kekworthy though.

The thing is that dex takes a huge boost from 60 to 75 (3-4 dmg per point when 40-60 is only 1-2, 3 at best)

Also l already have vig/end capped so it's not such a 'waste' for +44 damage (difference between 60 and 75)
