My guess was that because she was killed for her research, they wanted to make it so that th cause of death seemed as unrelated to that as possible. A random accident might seem too suspicious, so if she was known to have fought with her daughter and blamed her, with a dose of neurosis thrown in, it would be less suspicious. A brilliant scientist just sadly had a breakdown, took it out on her child, and killed herself.

P4g done it much better having you go around town and each character has their own little chance to reflect on their s link and story you also went to a place special to them.
p5 didn't do that that well andthe group just going out to the beach wasn't really that amazing they just talked about the theme of the game and the protagonist looks slowly at the camera, it's so disappointing.

One thing I also feel is lacking is that gradual descent into end of the world craziness that the others had.

3 had grafitti and trash and apathy sydrome becoming more and more prominent.
4 Had the fog thickening, people getting sick, going mad, etc.
5 Kinda just beelines.

The romances were like that in P4 too. At least P5 has half a dozen post rank 10 dates you can go on by hanging out with them.
