Itd not really forced, they gave a clear explanation. Wanting to be with him, wanting to push him away, showing him her evil side so he'd get tier of her and leave on his own, knowing the end was coming yet not being able to deal with it properly. Eventually after seeing Liz acting like a bitch she realized why she was foolish and went back to her old self.
