Wargames General /wgg/

>What is this?
A general for all strategic, operational, and tactical wargames that can't generate enough traffic to sustain their own generals. ARMA need not apply.

Why are Allied tanks so OP?

the king tiger will solve the jumbo problem

Made some OC. Rangers are OP.
youtu.be/l_RoLSSRe5Y

Why is it so hard to shoot down aircraft

I had 3 Whirbelwinds shooting at a fucking scout airplane from right under it and it only pulled back

first

>Why is it so hard to shoot down aircraft
AA is there to stun and deny enemy planes areas
fighters are for shooting down planes

the final solution to the allied question

Critique my new deck lads - its won me three games in a row now.

wow, great OC friend

Thanks.

Hitting planes is generally pretty hard when you have no computer to help you.

>jeep .50
for what purpose
for the price of 2 you can get a M16 which is what was literally nicknamed the "krautmower" "chopper" "meat grinder"

>taking the M4A1
Take another card of Stuarts instead

Why tho? The M4A1 has slaughtered many krauts for me

They should bring back the explosion effects and tracers/trails from Wargame

you can sacrifice M5s due to having a lot of them and you can use them to probe
Plus, AT in phase A will fuck up the Sherman just as much as the Stuart

M4A1 loses a lot of it's value a lot faster

These bombs look funny

I like recon + MG jeep over scouts, the P-38 bomber is pretty good, and as the other user said the jeep .50 is pretty pointless when you can have M16s. also, unless you're running out of ammo often in phase A, might be good to bump the GMCs up to B for the extra 2 trucks.

other than that, if it's working for you then it's fine m8

I will complete this campaign faster than anyone on /wgg/ ever has!

Could M4A3's really take out Panthers IRL?

the 76s could at long ranges while the 75 you needed to be

if we are talking about 76mms yes, frontally through the manlet from

>the M36 first served in combat in Europe in October 1944

oops

really grinds my final drives

>tfw no TD support for 3rd Armored

>teammate starts bombing and artying your troops

so uh

the M4A3(105) has 666 HE shells

>teammate says "fuck I didn't know they got a stug" when it stonewalls his 3rd Armored phase A rush

>M36 Jackson named after General Stonewall Jackson
deepest lore

>3rd Armored phase A rush
I thought the Firefly and cheap gun halftracks put an end to people trying that

Just having the fucking M10 would make a huge difference. All they need is the ability to shoot at targets from 1200m away.

It still works if the 12th player didn't immediately spawn the firefly or sometimes you get lucky

but no HEAT shells

That's one of the biggest issues with 3rd, they have nothing to answer or even pen the 1200m guns the germans can throw down on the field early on, and that just snowballs as Panthers start rolling out in Phase B

Indianhead is actually quite excellent.
It's my Allied deck of choice for now.

Can some user make a list of all the inaccuracies of the timeline? I'm not autistic but I know someone here is.

So some idiot sent hordes of men into your standard sherman

and?

Doesn't make it a good deck, just means you fought retards.

they're like 3rd armored, except instead of pretending to be good in the lategame they're actually good early. also, plenty of 76s, including one in A

they seem genuinely good for small games and less-open maps/areas

>I can't win A phase
or
>I play 10v10 only

...

...

They have all the tools you need to dominate A phase and then stunlock counterattacks in B-C phase.
Xylophones auto-stun armor blobs, which you can exploit with the 2vet Wolverines.

And unlike the 17thSS, Indianhead isn't destined for nerfing.

you gotta go fast, faster than Sonic. Only buy the Kuznetsov if your planning on buying their attack helicopters and committing to attacking Gobo on turn 2. If you weren't good at using ATGM infantry than you will now as they did the majority of the heavy work for me due to all the japanese armor and your lack-of.

Give Luftland a Pak 43 card or more 8.8cm cards.
Give 3AD some Wolverines or Hellcats.
Take away half of the 17th's Nebel cards.
Keep Scots as is.
Keep 12SS as is.
Keep 2ndID as is.

Hon hon but if we give le 3AD l'TDs then the 2ID will not be unique :^)

2ID gets all that crazy Ranger shit and arty options.
3AD gets Jumbos and E8s.

>E8s

No they don't, they get non HVSS shermans with the 76.

'39 battle of France DLC when??? I want to fuck Germans up as the French.

Knowing Eugen they would probably give the frogs post war Panthers as captured equipment in 1939.

I saw somewhere that North Korea has manpads attached to literally everything.

I guess they realize how impossible it is for them to win an air war so they might as well be the biggest pain in the ass to fly over.

The idea of literally every tank and APC having manpads on it is pretty interesting. You'd think they';d eventually take something down right?

It's almost like there is a reason A-10's and that type of CAS is being phased out...

Strela bus vroom vroom

Has anyone else encountered a bug in steel division where your trees and hedgerows just dissapear at mid-zoom?

I know that beta is beta, but this is quite irritating.

>Play as Luft vs. Scotts
>Fight over the center town
>They never deploys an Avere
>Never deploys a Crocodile
What did he mean by this?

Damn Scotts, they ruined the Scotts.

>31M literally hits all 6 missiles for 3 kills in one run vs all planes 130 points or more

MiG 31 Status= Redeemed

>Wargames General
Should be "Steel Divsion shill General"

>Should be "Steel Divsion shill General"

>Play as Scotts vs. Luft
>Fight over the center town
>Use Avere to smoke his infantry
>Follow up with Crocodiles in Phase B to push back his Phase A tanks
>Typhoons to smoke his B phase tanks
>He quits midway through Phase B
ez

Unless it would have 2 vet stars like in 2nd Inf, it wouldn't really be much of a use.

Abrams-guska when??

you lost me at luftlande phase A tanks

Don't ask me what he thought he was going to accomplish with them. Though he did grab some land in the beginning, but that was about it.

>infiltrate into enemy territory with the little jeep that comes with 2nd infantry recon
>kill his phase A mortar
>he quits before B phase even arrives
eheheheh

>playing 3AD against luftlande in the mid section of columbine
>shitter buys 2 mortars and some infantry squads at the start
>rushes the infantry squads across the open field
>mfw i just drive my halftracks past him and gib his two mortars behind his lines

hey the renault 35 was a remarkable tank

in 1935, where it belongs

Cute!

...

You call that a bombing raid?

infantry AT should have a 100% chance to hit

driving your expensive vehicle within AT range of a hedge you haven't cleared is a huge mistake, and whether it's punished or not shouldn't be up to RNG. the worst is when the vehicle has a 20mm or something, and just stuns/vaporizes the infantry squad instantly, which effectively rewards that guy's fuck-up.

>infantry AT should have a 100% chance to hit

>>infantry AT should have a 100% chance to hit

guise i'm going back to the army camp on sunday and their free Wi-Fi won't let me axis Veeky Forums because it's an "adult site.", how do I get around this?

Only german flak sucks.

proxy+Veeky Forums pass is the easiest option. Not free, though.

Clover or some other app on mobile.

>15 sk18's

Jesus fucking Christ.

...

I would play the shit out of it, the early war period has a unique feel to it.

>'39
>battle of France

>expecting these people to have any knowledge of history

Leavers should be Shot.

literally just use https

if they blocked Veeky Forums by name instead of IP, that will work

Poised for victory by turn 6!

I imagine a turn 5 victory might be possible with a better player

Let's get some mowas going, who's on steam?

To open up on this post.

I just had a match. i got my ass kicked at the start. literally steamrolled but some stug.

( on a side note if they're going to get something like that i really think the Croc should be back at Phase A )

But as soon as it hit phase B i managed to counter attack and regain some ground. i was massing units for a good push. this was supposed to be the counter attack of all counter attacks.

All until one of my team left (3v3) his entire flank collapsed and i couldn't support it. he literally ruined the entire match because he got memed by pushing up too far alone. absolute shitter it made me more mad than being memed by nebs. 109 rockets and any tank the Axis could throw at me. these people should really be banned.

protip: When you zoom all the way out and pan to the edges of the map you can see what other maps we get to play on.

BMP design feature. Every third BMP in a company had a MANPADS and the guy who carried it had to be seated below one of the hatches. Later on entire AA platoons like you saw in the first pic supported 2S6 Tunguskas as the Strela-10 and Shilka became obsolete.

That wouldn't be realistic.

every single conquest game is like this:
You roll up, you control 60% of your front, you see a friendly front is at 15% you decide to send in a stuart and some infantry to help his front.
You push up and his units stay in the city way back from the frontline.
Your ally on the other side of the map is asking for air support because he didn't put any aircraft in his deck you send in two fighters to sort them out.
The entire front is now 52 and we're slowly winning.
Meanwhile on your original front, the enemy now begins to assault your position, the two AT guns and the infantry is easily beaten as the enemy advances with artillery and airplanes bombing everything that moves, and panthers roll up.
You have 120 points left after helping your team, you spend them on some infantry and recon.
Your front is now at 20% and your entire team begins to blame you for the fact that we're now losing, nobody is sending in any reinforcements and we lose the game quickly there after.

Wow conquest is really the gamers choice i see.

Play 1v1 then if you don't want to deal with having shit teams

god dammit guys, just get some friends in stead of blaming the team all the time.

or this

>Shilka
>obsolete

By the 80's on, yes, it was easy for the most recent US Attack helicopters like the AH-64 and literally anything with a maverick to counter. The Tunguska and it's missile were pretty much required to make sure that two Apaches weren't going to be the end of your tank regiment.

or just stop playing the shitty conquest game made.
>wow guys we're holding 51% of the frontline this actually means something in terms of winning a war

>wow guise we lost our entire front and most of our men, but because we spammed rocket arty and camped our anti tank guns at spawn we won the war!

really werfs my nerbls

Yeah, K/D ratio is what wins wars, just ask Russians.
