Goro is literally Reiji except Reiji decided to cut a deal with the hero group in exchange for revenge and hadn't killed anyone over his grudge yet. Reiji's grude was even worse because if I recall Kandori himself despite being a scumbag wasn't even the guy responsible for his grief, just the only one still alive he could lash out at. And he sucessfully murders the dude and the party is cool with it and he goes about his day.

Goro was right! PTs should\ve been jailed together with anyone that brainwashed people using the Metaverse. Some of the bigger cases COULD be justified (if you directly saved lives by the brainwash, like Shido's case). But brainwashing someone because they cheated in a videogame is out of line entirely.
