Z23 is a good torpedobote (better than IJN) that also has decent guns and can pick off other DDs with ease if they get separated from their team.

despite ognevoy's torps are slower they leave 7.5s reaction time vs 7.6-8.1s reaction time on z-23's torps, and 7.6s it's for her shorter range ones

ogny's torps are *easier* to hit with. she also has 2 fish more per salvo and her torps are more damaging

guys, i have two questions to you:

a) is it a stupid idea to buy koenig albert to [re-]train german dd captains? i already own emden, does koenig bring much more xp? t7-8 premiums are way too expensive

b) aft or no aft on blysk? i am not sure about my ability to hit with her guns at 14km... my captain on her is reset after that major captains change

that reaction time does not include ship speed.

Fast torps are easily 10x better against fleeing ships, as every second more the torp takes to arrive is another second the victim has to drive 30-40 knots away from the torp.

Fast torps (that don't have some insane weeb spotting range) are normally harder to dodge when coming towards them, as rudder time is fixed and the closing time is much shorter.

Fast torps when the enemy is moving parallel are much more likely to hit. The slower torps require leading very far from the ship, which means that if they turn either direction even slightly, they'll be completely safe. Fast torps have a much larger margin where if they keep going they'll eat one and if they turn they'll still eat one on the other end of the spread.

That stupid spreadsheet is completely meaningless unless the target is stationary sitting in a smoke cloud. Against moving targets it doesn't give any actual reaction measure.

You see in iChase Review of Hood, him complaining about doing little damage, when left he is in BaBBy tier positioning.

Also someone who calls himself a warship buff who then proceeds to criticise Hood's historical camo.

Warspite is the most successful BB of all time in a very real sense. She had the most instances of behaving and providing the job that a BB was designed to provide. She fought at Jutland, and tanked damage like a beast, despite losing her steering gear forcing a circle infront of the entire German High Seas fleet *alone* (as the rest of her Division and the remainder of the Battlecruisers ran away). She was present for half a dozen BB vs. BB, as well as a large number of smaller engagements including those where *she* sank Destroyers and cruisers (not disabling them to be scuttled or other ships finish them off). And then, after nearly 3 decades of service, she was too damaged to maintain the roll of a front like BB and was shifted into a monitor role and provided fire support at the major invasions including D-Day. Pretty much no other BB can claim this kind of career, and consistently facing enemy guns at sea and likewise sank more tonnage by main battery than any other Battleship in history.
