Finally cleared the no random encounters + basic equip run of VII

Pretty ez outside of the Gold Third battles and the 4 CPUs in H dimension

The Dark CPU fights there are just long and boring(not to mention you almost cannot damage them if your STR/INT is below 9k) - didn't clear the LV.999 one yet, just how strong am I supposed to be to even deal enough damage?

Can't they just make them spam statuses like Bind, Paralyze and Confuse so you have to be careful of where to place your neps and have an OP attack start every 20 turns or something?
Or I dunno... make very peculiar AoE shapes?

Another idea could be making the boss use a very OP skill with a big AoE but it requires said boss to stand in a precise position of the battlefield - so you need to push it constantly or at least build yourself time to escape the AoE range.

Yeah. Or even have a counter-attack system where the enemy will adopt a block stance, and retaliates if you try to attack it anyway.

Shit, just play Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy and see how bosses behaves. In Neptunia, everything feels completely random. Sometimes they use their strongest attacks, sometimes no. You can't silence them or drain their SP, so you just take their attacks in the face.
You have tank characters, but since the AI magically know everyone's armour, they'll usually ignore Blanc and make a beeline to Rom and oneshot her, since there's no taunt skill.

I played both and indeed - bosses were a lot more scripted and funnier than Neptunia.

So far the only pattern I noticed in Neptunia bosses is that when their HP is under 50% the chance of using OP skills is higher(think about Arfoire) - HOWEVER - this literally allows them to use said OP skill twice or thrice in a row, completely killing your whole party whatever you do

I also noticed that the AI will try to attack from the side or from behind, but will prioritize hitting several people at once. So if you put Ram behind Blanc, it will usually prefer attacking the both of them with an AoE than attack Ram only.

Also in RB games some bosses and dangerous foes prioritize the party leader.
I just tried that in RB 1 against Clione and he always attacks the leader first and follows her

Didn't notice such a thing, blocking doesn't seem to affect their behaviour

Pick Blanc and Rom and make Rom block constantly, see if they proritize Blanc or Rom
To be sure, make Rom the party leader

Well, I experienced with FFF:ADF mostly, and I noticed the enemies only block if there's no target in range. If there's one, they'll always attack it. If they have a choice between different targets, they'll pick the weakest one.
For my experience, I gave the cute little but underleveled Tiara an overpowered fairy, raising her stats over Fang's. And Fang ended up being constantly attacked.

I don't know if the AI is different between Neptunia and FFF, be it ADF or vanilla, but once the election is over, I'll have plenty of time to... experiment.
