Way too many, it barely resembles a penthouse. I'm planning on making and/or living in a mansion once we have kids but for the two of us right now we'll stay here.

Precision Sims engineering is amazing. I just didn't like the aesthetic of having pillars ruin the view on the first floor so I took them out. I know it looks really unrealistic.

Depends on how much you care about the stuff not in the crack yet. Then again, if you can't afford it either way you've not nothing to lose, so go for it.

How do you discuss neighborhood changes if you have no neighbors?

Never played a sims game before. Should I start with 2, 3, or 4? I assume 4 has less quantity but better quality of life improvements as compared to 3, and similarly for 3 compared to 2?

3 is great, lots of content, but it stutters and boots up slowly if you start with all EPs and sims look bad w/o cc
4 is ok, sims look nice, runs smoother, but it's an incomplete game

Start with 1

3 seems to be the sweet point now, but I know people who's still vouching for 2 instead. 4 is two an half years old but still feels incomplete (no wonder, Sims is a huge cash cow), while it's biggest improvement was indeed that it runs smoother.
