Yeah I was going to give MCH a look, I really enjoyed the mobility of the bard though and if all the ranged classes end up being casterlike I don't know that I'll really enjoy machinist either
thanks, i'll give one of the melee classes a serious try before I give it up entirely. I really want to like this game, the world is really lovely and charming, and the character design is neat, i've just had trouble getting into it.

Just in case you don't know, Lancer has a fucked up set of skills for twenty-so levels and for maximum DPS you just spam one skill while applying a buff. Monk is super easy, Ninja is pretty involved with self-buffs. As elezen, you'll look amazing in Dragoon and Ninja armors.

Guild Wars 2 is the shit. Much more fast-paced, easier dress-up, fights are way more crazy. Coming to XIV, everything feels (and mostly IS) incredibly restricted.
