Easy as fuck when you realise the mechanics. Something about if you have less than 15 hp, the orc will become smorc and ignore everything but your face.

If you use animated armour and healbots to keep around the 5-14 hp mark you can drag the game on for ages until you have counterspell and your win condition in hand then rock the second phase.
