Friede fucks up, falls into Painted World out of despair. Notes that the residents of the Painted World are preparing to recycle it, decides 'fuck cycles' (Which, given what is going on outside, is a kind of valid stance to take) and seduces Ariandel, convincing him to keep himself weak enough that he cannot burn the old world, and locking painter loli in a cellar with Vilhelm to babysit so that she can't paint a new world.

I mean, it's a world that is rotting, but all she was really trying to do was stop what she thought was a pointless sacrifice. She was wrong, really, really wrong, but when has anybody who ever did horrible things in the name of a good cause ever failed to delude themselves into thinking it's worth the cost?

Then the Unkindled Ash comes along and threatens to fuck everything up purely via his/her presence, ruining her idyllic land of stagnation and stasis. She tries to get him to leave, and I mean, there's nothing actually stopping Ash from leaving, but he pokes his nose in out of curiosity or righteousness or whatever and won't leave. She knows that while there are two Unkindled in the Painted World, she's on a time limit. Eventually, Ash finds Ariandel and she decides that shit needs to be dealt with because clearly her advice to just walk away was not heeded.

Everything she did was pretty reasonable from her point of view. To be honest, it's a reasonably well done tale of tragedy, ruined only by retarded breakneck pacing that stems from it trying to be a full story (in keeping with the 'worlds within worlds' theme) in a single DLC.

If you want to be equal, drop a sign. You'll have equal hp too. If you want to invade like the big boys, you need to be able to deal with more than one people. As an invader, pveers are your prey and pveers tend to summon

Are you seriously pretending the invasion system isn't hugely flawed in ds3?

A common complaint in the previous games was that the invader had too much of an advantage invading especially with twinks. The advantage the host has in ds3 is dramatically greater than the advantages the invaders had in the past by orders of magnitude. The game would gain more from the invasion system being removed altogether than by having it the way it is.

TRC is normal DLC length. It's actually longer than any of the DaS2 DLCs (minus the backtrack padding in Ivory). It's only short relative to TOH, which is the longest expansion From has released.

AoA was planned for a much later release and pushed forward 6 months by Bamco, forcing much of its planning to be scrapped and condensed to fit the shorter development cycle.

That's one thing that bothered me about the series. I'm a new fag but wherever I go, someone tells me to avoid DS2 because it's shit or to avoid DS3 because it's shit.

I ultimately decided to play all the games in release order, and I'm currently experiencing the first DLC of DaS3, but I'm not seeing their "it's shit claims" I like somethings other games do over 2, I like somethings 2 does over the other games.

I don't understand this black and white mentality people have in regards to this site. I think BB is my favorite so far just because I love the cosmic-horror themes. But I prefer the slow combat in DaS.

You're either getting pretty far ahead of yourself or you don't know what that phrase means.

Invaders do have some disadvantages but if the host isn't party to a gank squad you've got a decent chance of killing them.

The game is balanced around the risk reward of being human and having more health but being at risk of invasion. I've played through the whole game as human on my 2nd playthrough and been invaded twice.
