What really bothered me about Vic2 was default unit names after conquering the city.

It'll be something else other than "1st" infantry or whatever because the game still thinks the previous AI owner still has the infantry out. It's a small thing but it's one of the few things among ugly borders (like the French algeria strip) that makes me lose interest in a game. I think the farthest I got was 1880 before I dropped any game. Same thing with EU3, dropped it usually by 1600.

Has anyone made a grand strategy game yet that does not suffer from ugly borders? I think the only way I can enjoy one now is if it's randomised world like Civ but with grand strategy mechanics basically. I'll probably end up playing only Stellaris once it gets one more expansion or so.

i really want my grand strategy fix without these little obsessive shit bothering me. i swear grand strategy games have pushed me towards autism

I uninstalled Victoria II for a couple days to keep myself from playing it and now I've reinstalled it. All my mods, saves and settings appear to be unharmed but is there anything in the base game folder that I'll have to replace or is everything of importance really saved in the documents folder?

Quick questions for CK2:
If I improve light infantry tech does the upgrade all of my realm's units?
Or is it more limited, like only troops from my own demense?
Also if I build a training grounds in my capital will that affect all the units from that county or just the ones from that specific demense?
And how is this all accounted for when you combine troop stacks?

I ask because I have an extremely upgraded capital with 3 castles and very good technology and I'm wondering if this has all just been a waste of time since I could have been saving up the money to buy more mercenaries for the endless war effort.
