There's a difference between being on a side in a war, and doing everything in your power to prop up both your ally and bribe the opposition into submission.

No thats just bullshit pham. If there wouldn't be outside meddling in the ME Israel still would be ahead. You massively overestimate the relationship america had with Israel. It wasn't always this close. Influx of qualified ashkenazi jews with european culture for example is more important to explain the succes of Israel.

He was a hawk right to the very end, he managed to get the Palestinian resistance in the west bank to lay down their arms by talking about a imaginative peace deal now the west bank is being isolated and dissected.

And by opposing Iran, they were supplying financial aid, military support, and weapons to Iraq.
