Yep. The true answer to whether Naoto wants to be a boy or whether Kanji is gay is it doesn't fucking matter because either way they're Kanji and Naoto and they've learned to accept the truth of who they are despite what society thinks of them seems to be lost on the average tumblrtard who is incapable of thinking about the world without putting everything into neat little categories. I once had a conversation with a gay friend who insisted that Atlus pussied out by not making Kanji gay and that the game would have somehow been improved if he did come out as openly homosexual. It sometimes feels like these people don't even want true tolerance/understanding but, rather, to stroke their massive social justice egos to characters being LGBT just because.

truly the best twist in a Persona game in a while. I love how they lulled you into thinking it was going to be another "trusted confidant turns out to be secretly evil and betrays the protagonists without them being any the wiser" only to reveal that the Phantom Thieves were just as savvy as the player and were pulling off a grand scale keikaku all along.
