What does this mean for Dodge?

It means I don't give a shit about Dodge anymore.

It means Dodge killed one of the few things going for them. FCA is now irredeemable.

Haven't they killed it for three years in a row now? I've constantly read VIPER DED for ages now. When are they finally going to actually kill it?

BTFO

Was great while it lasted, GTR fangirl tears were nice

the Viper was a piece of shit that couldnt pass basic safety regs so they killed it

lol @ people thinking they just killed it over nothing

sperg more

How am I sperging? I'm not the insecure one making threads to circlejerk about how bad GM is. GTR got BTFO by the Viper, get over it kiddo

Fuck you really had to bring that shit to this thread, didn't you

RIP any actual Viper discussion

Watch until 10 years later Dodge makes it again

>Fiat Chrysler renovated and reopened the plant in December 2012 after redesigning and reviving the Viper. But sales failed to meet projections of 1,500 units per year.

We don't get to have nice things anymore, you should know that by now.

It's been "killed off" three times before.

It'll be back.

You can't keep the American God Machine down.

>Fiat kills the viper

Do you need me to post a slowpoke or you can find one on your own?

post a viper faster around the ring than pic related

it's dead the UAW contract said it would not be replaced

It sucks, the threads that don't become namefag shitpostgrounds are very good, I remember one Corvette thread that turned into an actual factual discussion of pushrods vs. OHC, and didn't become shit.

I guess diamonds feel more valuable in a field of shit.

Either way, the Viper was officially killed because of the lack of side-curtain airbags, but really it was because FCA felt it wasn't a good enough Halo Car for the corporation. This generation of the Viper was godmode, but some polish would have turned it into a legitimate supercar by the next gen. FCA felt like the investment wouldn't have been worth it, and since SRT didn't want to give it a Dual Clutch, FCA pulled the plug.

Sure

>no laptime

try again

People don't want these hardcore supercars, they want "hold my hand" computerized paddles and traction at all times,

>2020 Viper

its just a rebadged Ferrari

at least it wont sound like shit

Hmmm

>inb4 that cancelled pic

Now drop this shit and let's talk about the merits of the Viper as an individual car.

>irrelevant road courses

I strictly said "ring" as in nurburgring, you know, the only actual track where Nissan officially tested the car

>the merits of the Viper as an individual car.
none since it got cancelled obviously

>irrelevant road courses

Rebrand as an Alfa when?

>still no nurburgring time

Don't bother, this routine had been gone through a thousand threads before, with mostly the same smug anime girls too. The Viper's headed to the Nurburgring this July, but even if it smokes the GT-R the shitposting will continue.

On topic, is twin turbos on a Viper worth it for the track, or just drag racing? Here's a sweet twin turbo, dat backfire at 2:05 is the sickest
youtu.be/H0JRMBGrab0

>Nurburgring is the only track that matter because some obese virgin weeb says so

Turbo seems like overkill unless for drag, car is balanced well out the box with power and such

>170mph top speed
>thinkhing it will manage to lap it fast

lol

>road tracks matters because some obese Viper virgin fangirl says so

It's a bit more than that.
There were uaw issues and the fact that FCA decided not to renew the lease on the factory that made the viper as well as other things I'm forgetting that killed off the snek.

Truly we are in the worst timeline.

it pretty much boils down to

the Viper is expensive to make and sell
no one wants to buy them

Yeah, I'm not sure if the concession should have been made for paddle shifters this gen, although I believe all the R/Ts and ACRs still sold out.

Take off that tripcode, you don't need that shit here.

I tripped so think skins can filter me

its really for the best

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fair enough, at least you're not ban evading.

Anyways, I don't know how I feel about the whole Viper market. Dual clutch shifters would probably increase the consumer base, but isn't the manual part of the charm? Would it have been worth it to change?

Paddles would have increased their sales, but I feel the end result would be the same.
They'd rather focus on putting stupid amounts of horsepower into challengers, it seems.

>
>Paddles would have increased their sales
Sad that all the people with money are bitches

It's sad, but normies are where most of the money is.

It's sad, but when you have that much disposable income, most people are badge whores, and it's hard to convince them to spend money on a Dodge instead of a Porsche or a Mercedes. It's sad, but it's not undeserved, as FCA dug this hole themselves in the 2000s.

>yfw viper resurrected as fagshit model with round lights under alfa romeo name

Mentioning the GT-R, Corvette, Tesla brand, or the Ford GT should be an automatic ban.

I honestly wouldn't mind, at least it would live on. Although being one of the few American supercars is pretty charming

bringing up a 3k civic, BRZ, or miata should also be a ban.

Posting on Veeky Forums should be an automatic ban

...

???

>yfw they bring it back with a real life Vision GT model

>FCA wins LeMans
I just want to see the butthurt, the Corvette losing this year was already such a shitshow

>rebadged Ferrari
>gets Viper engine
I-I'm okay with this plan...

My ancestors are smiling at me econoboxs can you say the same.

If a 2010 model is almost as fast as the GT-R, don't ya think the newer one, which had been obliterating its own records is gonna be even faster around the ring?

>170 mph top speed
no

nothing of value lost

RIP SNEK
f to pay respects

Funny when the 2018 Ferrari is just a bit similar to the discontinued viper

>Production figures:
>2015 Totals 676
>2016 Totals 590 estimated
>2017 Totals 485 estimated

Gee, I wonder why they shitcanned it.

>actually beliving that is a viper

lol how delusional

>top speed
>on a course with very few straights and is 80% corners
damn shitposters are retarded

It's not a Viper, it just shows how the design cues and aero can live on even after being discontinued.

Honestly I just want to see Vipers racing again.
With the announcement of the GT coming back to Le Mans I was so excited to see a GT, Viper, and Vette battling down the Mulsanne straight or round the banks of Daytona.
The Viper has been my dream car since I was 10 or 11.

>I don't know what I am talking about
the average speed there is almost 110 mph in gt3 cars

Racing liveries look real good on Vipers

>average speed is ALMOST 110
meaning that most cars aren't driving above 110 very often, so back to my original statement
damn shitposters really are retarded

You know it.

>i still do not understand what I am talking about
can't wait until it fails to lap it slower than the GTR, I will shitpost for months

end of july cannot come soon enough

>I will shitpost for months
One does not simply become this autistic?

Yo is that at Mid-Ohio? I haven't seen that place in years.

>literally only one straight long enough for top speed to matter
can't wait for the GTR to be btfo and shitposters have nothing to say afterwards

I hope you don't mention FCA's certain rival company.

>one straight

lol, imagine being this clueless

>imagine not being able to read
I said one straight where top speed matters, holy kek shitposters are retarded

>only one straight where top speed matters

top kek, GT3 car reach last gear in more than 10 places

imagine being THIS clueless

Can you put your name back on Felix, so I can filter your constant bullshit? Or are you too busy evading bans to actually contribute to a thread?

just who the fuck is felix?

He'll know.

Back on topic, is there a day yet for the ACR lap?

>17522459
>last gear != top speed
imagine being this retarded, not giving you the satisfaction of a (you)

no, they haven't even gotten close to raising enough money to ship the cars over and back it's not gonna happen

thedrive.com/news/11197/dodge-viper-acr-heading-back-to-the-nurburgring-for-a-new-record-attempt-in-july

it's been confirmed, and they said late July, not sure what the exact date is though

that post stated 3 different cars faster than the GTR so idk where the shit post comes from, but I'm excited for the Viper to rock it and go out a winner

yeah, I can't wait, I've heard rumors of 7:01 amateur times so I want to see how valid they are. It probably won't beat godmachines like the McLaren, but I want to see it die with pride

No matter what the lap time though I'm happy that it's going out on the god track, its a nice bow on a perfect package

I've no idea, sorry. I just saved a few images off of here a while back.

I don't think it means much, unfortunately. I wish it meant something closer to their demise, though. People will keep buying thousands of Dodges.

Yea, thats Mid-Ohio. I can tell from the cramped pit lane.

Oh right. Well everyday's a school day.

Those are all the race livery Vipers I've got.

WTF WHY!?

RIP Greatest American Supercar.

Ok.

Ferrari fled FCA in tears because they got BTFO

It means the Viper has always been a meme car and FCA aren't playing that shit anymore.

They tried, did a great job, it still failed.
I can't see why people blame FCA.

Fat Mericunts BTFO

>I can't see why people blame FCA.

They always find a way to blame FCA. Unless it would be un-american way to blame themselves for a shitty job.
