But when they were rereleased for 1.5 and 2.5, the English audio was reverted back to Japanese.

Because they weren't re-releases.

rendering a 30 fps game at 60 fps makes a lot of shit not stable, suddenly things going twice as fast makes a previously balanced game buggy.
