What's your vanilla shipfu?
Picture related is mine

The Hammer of the Ludd.

BTW What are you spec your carrier commanders?
>3 Carriers skills are mandatory
>speed skill
then what?
>missile for missile carrier like mora or dover
or range for non missile like Heron
Anything else?

It needs Steam

Anyone know what properties to change in the settings file to stop enemies from retreating?

A U R O R A

>inb4 autist says it's asymmetrical

...

For the others I go combat endurance, missile specialization, helmsmanship, and gunnery implants.

Ship painter when? Just add overlays to the damn sprites with an alpha map already so we can paint them.

When it's finished

>a single Drover, a destroyer sized vessel, is so overpowered it can eat entire fleets of frigates alive except for tritech

I'm trying to run a fun little cluster of frigates but christ, lashers suck such immense dick now and virtually every situation could be 999x faster/easier just by using a Drover with two talon wings.

Not really wrong. You'd probably get the dregs of humanity for a frontier mission.

Get a Phaeton, you can fit the survey sensor hullmod AND the improvised flight decks with talons. Great ship for early exploration.

>improvised flight decks
Never seen these once

carriers are retarded OP right now because fighters are infinite troops that are strong against basically everything else.
Also, what is up with trading? its so difficult to find out where certain goods are produced, only missions seem to give any payout at all and usually its just best to sit at massive markets and buy the stuff you need of the black market and give that in.
Theres no incentive to ever trade normally, or even find trading routes where you buy volatiles from one place and drop them at another because tariffs are through the fucking roof.

I hope alex takes a lesson out of trading from games like port royale 2, trading was really fun in that game, along with making trading fleets and routes that made real profits.

Why do people say Devastators are good PD? They're way too damn slow.

They are, however, excellent shotguns.

Trading seems broken at the moment because there doesn't seem to be any point in selling to the legit markets when you can always sell to black markets at ZERO consequences.

The #1 change to this game that needs to be made is to remove the stupid capture the flag mini-game that keeps popping up in battle, it's so shoe-horned in it's unreal.

What good is symmetry in space anyway? I have to say I fucking love asymmetrical ships.

Soon (tm)

Centre of mass doesn't stop existing in space.

lol

It's not that it's asymmetrical, it's that it looks like a glove, and nothing like a spaceship.

oh boy, 8.1 can't get here soon enough

yooooo

gib

ez mode

I came

Nigga wat?
Who the fuck is Tartiflette? A fucking ex-Front mission game dev or something?

He's turning diable into some ridiculous shit.

where can i get this game?
its look soo good

There's mega in the previous thread, I think.

WHY

>that skull

WHY NOT

IT'S A FUCKIN SPACE MECH.

SOMETHING LIKE 60% OF DIABLES SHIPS ARE EITHRE MINI OR GIANT ROBOTS NIGGA.

DON'T ASK QUESTIONS. JUST GRAB A SWORD. NIGGAS NEED CUTTIN'

then you're actually saying it looks objectively good because the human hand has proportions matching the golden ratio

Which one?

I'm actually saying that it needs a rework, as you literally can't tell what's what on the ship. It's like it's made by some blind retarded engineer who only got his job because his father was a Tri-Tachyon CEO.

rule of cool ftw

The only thing I really take issue with is that it's an actual blade and not a tiny, high-intensity beam lance. I guess glorious nippon steel is better against shields though.

After running your post through my Pre-Collapse Datacore, it firmly concluded that YOU are, in fact, the blind retard.

Ay, when you've got good enough armor, a sword will kill a man just as well as a bullet.

>Frost Wanzer variant with high-frequency MGS ninjasteel blade
>Another with what amounts to an open Flux Vent, fitted to a highflow valve & a high-pressure nozzle
>FLUX Blade Wanzers.

I need this.

it looks asymmetrically balanced. the modules are not equal, but their hypothetical center of gravities are, and that's what makes it more aesthetic than a completely symmetrical design because it needs actual work to make properly.

the design just makes you THINK of the function/center of gravity/relative weight of the modules if you want to make sense of instead of the mere form of it. even the bridge is slightly off bore, like it was meticulously placed just to the left by some cutting edge AI without regard for human eyes. it's so brutally efficient it conveys the ethos of tri-tach perfectly.

lol

...

are kitbashes allowed here

>jump into system
>'price info updated'
>no fucking way to check the updated price

HOW? WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS EVEN MEAN

Alright lads, I'm taking a break until 8.1 and mods come out, don't wanna burn myself out before the good stuff comes. If you see me here again, call my wife and she'll come pick me up.

Why wouldn't they be?

he was asking for our vanilla shipfus

your mere presence causes the system-wide prices to simultaneously shift, as a consequence of the hyperspace jump's relativistic effects on causality

>that vintage apogee with shit weapon mounts

Special sneak peak of last mobile suit for now before I start on gundams

...

Go into your Intel Panel, there should be information regarding prices.

Nothing concrete, it just says 'prices updated' but there's no listing of the updated prices anywhere.

Yes there is. Opening the intel will let you see what prices/(goods) were updated. Opening the general prices tab and plotting it into the map (there should be a small map on the intel, pressing the "map" tab on top of it will help) will let you see prices across the sector, which are delayed based on your last visits there.

Hopefully in the future tariffs get smaller and the game engine can predict shipping lanes, so that pirates can camp them. As of now there should be at least some skills that net you extra supplies and fuel for non-profit/loss trades.

Out of instance friendly satellites and other shit for updating prices on 2d delay when

just who the hell sells apogees? do they even exist on this version anymore?

also this game needs sensor ships now

I've seen only one in my 55 levels of gameplay, and it was in Hybrasil on Tri-Tachyon military base.

Does Omen count as a sensor ship?

>Go back to 7.2a for awhile
>Start as Diable
>Draft gets fucked by missiles
>Grint my way up to a Mantis
>Mount double Antimatter bladers, Safety Override & 2 Reliant HMGs+Heavy Mining Laser

>Start shitting on everything to some crazy ass zone of enders like song.
>430km/s bursts of speed.
>Average 230+
>So much Flux Dissapation my shields are on constantly. even with AM blaster pop offs.

GOOD MAN.

We illicit organ traders now!

Fighters seem too good because :
>Alex drastically buffed fighters but didn't change the amount of point defense AI ships typically have. Laser/Flak boats for example burn fighters to ash
>AI ships don't typically use hull mods that make dealing with enemy fighters easier. You won't see advanced turret gyros, resistant flux conduits, or a fighter hanger using wasp drones very often
>The AI just isn't good and aggressive enough to deal with carriers. The AI is great at exploiting openings but is complete dog shit at creating them. They will basically let you park your carriers at the rear of the frontline and will do very little to pressure them

I wish I could haul slaves. Is there really no slavery in a shitty god-forsaken sector?

Yeah, it basically comes to the fact that ship variants remained the same. Give pirates 2-3 dedicated PD ships per fleet, and it'll be a lot harder to swarm them, especially early on.

Also, pirates lost their fucktons of Talons for some reason. That would help them to kill player fleets early.

I was thinking about playing Starsector. Is it worth it to pirate the game now, or is there any update coming up soon?

I didn't even think about this until now. But if you go with the current demographics and trends, only one out of fifty or so people should be white by the space age so he still needs to work on that diversity.

The major update just released.

>or is there any update coming up soon?
If lucky we'll have another content update before Christmas.

I see them for sale a lot at the League capitol in the Thule system.

Yeah, legit trading is borked until there's a way to lower the tariffs. Not to mention the tool tip prices are wrong anyways.

The Hegemony, Sindrian Diktat, and Luddic Church would have none of that shit.
Tri-Tachyon is unscrupulous enough but it already has corporate slavery and wouldn't have much use for literal slaves considering their focus on advancing and automating everything.

Your viable options for slavery would be Pirates, Independents, the Luddic Path, and the Persean League.

Perseans should really have some slaver polity planet just to show that they're not all good guys.

the persean leage is mostly a bunch of independents that say fuck your shit hegemony and gone allied againts them, seem to have a hands off aproach for internal matters, even for domain standards, and the domain starts to sound rather opressive

so yeah could happen in CERTAIN worlds

Any way to turn off this commission crap?
I want to buy ships from more than 3 market goddamnit.

do what the gumdum franchise has been doing for the past 30 years - draw any kind of character you want but give them diverse NAMES

example - jap first name, yurpeen last name

problem solved
people these days literally cant even get past appearances, though they are important arent they

What's the points of marines now? I haven't seen any use for them since the update

>The #1 change to this game that needs to be made is to remove the stupid capture the flag mini-game that keeps popping up in battle
What? I've never seen anything like that.

Check the two military level independent ports. They tend to get odd inventory.

>is there any update coming up soon
Likely no. But you should buy it anyways. Even if the dev keels over and dies tomorrow, there is enough game for it to be worth the 10 USD.

>ppl jsut now realizing fighters are good.

Nigga, you could have dozens and dozens of wings following you with only a single carrier deployed. NOTHING stood a fucking chance

asymms are dum

>What? I've never seen anything like that.

You've never seen the stupid fucking 'capture points' shit in combat?

You had to pay a lot of supplies for them though.

Do you think if gates were reopened Domain would slap everyone's shit? Imagine how advanced their ships would be if even Tri-Tachyon is basically only one of its megacorps.

"fighters were bad because you couldnt put officers in them!"

The domain would kick everyone's shit in no doubt... if it's still a thing

To be fair +25% bomb/missile damage is fucking huge.

The game keeps freezing even if I update java. The previous version didn't have this problem ;_;

If you read the flavor text, there is one Persean planet that enacted Jim Crow esque laws toward Luddic believers and basically turned them into a slave race working on plantations and factories or being used as fodder in the military until the rebelled
When the Luddic Church sent the knights in to assist their faithful, the Persean League stepped in to defend the current government of a planet.

The Persean League doesn't really care what you do on your own planet as long as you continue to contribute to their military and coffers.

>yfw the domain shut down the gates intentionally due to reapers on steroids invading their territory

I want Luddic Knights to be like old Brotherhood of Steel/

Haven't played in like 8 months. I had to use mods to make it fun after playing vanilla for awhile.

Has he updated vanilla more to be more standalone?

Lad we have a board called videogame generals for a reason

n-nyaaaaaa

>being this new

those are bonuses, and also i DID beat the shit out bigger fleet without them so there
not really needed

after 200+ years if they ever come back they will have battleships that make the paragon a rustbucket, or a battlecarrier with that much tech

but i bet they are gonna be a thing on release version

Nah, that planet didn't pay the League dues after the rebellion was over. You can join the League, but you can't leave. So they asked for help and the Knights were sent to protect them, they failed.

"Generals"—long-term, recurring threads about a specific game—should be posted in Veeky Forums. This is not to say threads about specific games cannot be created on /v/, just that long-term, recurring threads belong in Veeky Forums.

Literal retard

I'm almost certain that some AI takeover happened and the gates were closed in desperation.

>going to a thread about a game you're not interested in just to bitch about it
>bitching about genuine video game discussion on /v/
Yeah, go create some LOL threads and post cropped porn there. Muh video game culture, amirite, guise?

apparently the easiest way to get an appoge is to blunder on a pirate salvager

got 2 that way

"Lad" please go shove an entire up your ass.
