Why would anyone care about whether a car has 4 or 5 lugs?
I see Smart cars with 3 lug wheels and immediately feel a sense of disgust and despair at the current state of this world.
4 lug is still acceptable on old small shitboxes, but 3 is unholy.
Does it make any difference other than appearance?
What's the problem?
>cheap wheels
>firestone tires
>oem shitbox calipers
OP probably doesn't have a car

KYS lol we all have cars. Just not 4 lug shitboxes that cost less than $1000.

...
there used to be some reason for it (cost reduction/durability)
but at this point it's just what ever pcd will work with more desirable wheels and brakes
I have 4, 5 and 6 lug cars though
>he has 4 lug cars
lmfao I knew it
and 5 lug and 6 lug, there's no real reason to put a car down because the number of lugs.
...
>not 8 lug
Lmao
Because more lugs means more weight which means slower car. How new are you to not know that weight is bad
>not having 6 lugs
without any detail here
I assume that fewer lugs would give more leverage to the force
.eg turn a 4 spoke wheel 45 degrees and the nearest spoke is 22.5 degrees away
also just as a function of volume that each spoke is taking more weight so has to be thicker
then onto lugs
each bolt will be taking more load
and over all there will be less surface area of thread
of course this can all be balanced out by making the parts thicker and more heavy
with the end goal being a centre lock wheel
then there is this cheeky cunt
I have been here for 11 years.
it seems to be an American obsession

so does it prove that 5-spoke wheels and this whole bullshit about harmonics is a meme?
>no lug
sup
>Not running 10 lugs
Move plebs I've got a load of parts for stupid rice grinders to deliver.
>mfw my 90's shitbox looks best with 15" wheels but it's 5-lug and all the cool retro jap wheels are 4-lug.
>bullshit about harmonics
ive not heard that one b4
>prove that 5-spoke wheels
just that particular wheel has some issues
and that it might be better that lugs do not line up with spokes
as in terms of force in would turn an 4 spoke into an 8 spoke
that and things like Advan A3A and Almex just don't look right
gets me thinking that wheel shape and strength don't matter outside of endurance type motor sports or going for super light weight
