Just got this on Wednesday. You get used to it, I'm able to land airshots pretty reasonably.
I just forget sometimes that your splash damage is near non existent.

True. As a stock user, the direct hit is so alien to me because of the lack of splash.

I mostly use it to give the enemy Engies a bad time.

Very underrated weapon in terms of reskins. Hopefully we'll get lucky this year's smissmas something.

Nice trips. I don't much care for it unless I'm trying to waste some sentries.
I haven't practiced enough to make the chancy launch and airshot mechanic reliable enough so whenever I do attempt that I'm down two rockets.

Its a nice change of pace because all other community servers were gimmicks and any skial server I found was either dead or full, but then again this is a turbine game.

Crossbow is also very good for battlemedic, due to it's burst damage and long range.
It is also very good as it lets you have freedom of position without compromising your ability to heal everyone.

It's all tools in your toolbox, you master one, then move on.
Once you master them all, you will truly see that you can adapt to any situation, and frag every scrub until they call hacks.

If it's any help, think of every needle as a tiny RR projectile. You'll get a feel for the difference after a while.

I think it's because of FoV you are using in casual.

Some hints on needle accuracy,;
>strafe at the same direction as the foe you engaged at the close to mid range
>while doing so also steer your mouse at the same direction as well, you'll draw an outer circle
>you'll see your needle projectiles will draw a horizontal arc as they get a slight bulletfall at the same time
>once you successfully led the initial shot start tracking his "path" and give some prediction
>if they're advancing on you from one side just circle strafe to the opposite direction
>diagonally backpedal to evade them when it failed
You may wanna work on your rocket surfs; run to Soldier's left if close, run to their right if mid-range.
Packing Overdose may help on surf, makes it easier to crouch-evade from hitscans and b-hop without a patient.
Also a good idea to have a grasp on how to position when pocketing, so you won't be an easy prey.

Oh no, its not the fov, valve changed the way weapon models worked so that they could throw in their skins for weapons.
Here is how it used to look (minus the graphical mod), note how the barrel of the gun is visible.
