Can an informed individual explain the general consensus on SF 4 vs 5. I am a complete novice and have just recently in the past week tried both. 5 so blatantly easier in so many ways, is this something people are generally ok with? 4 is filled with so many nuanced actions and micro systems it is daunting.

With 5, I'm pretty mad that I had to blow through the "character story" missions to unlock characters with a League of Legends currency system. I just skipped all the low quality stills because I couldn't be asked to care about such lazy nonsense. I just wanted Guile and Juri but nope, I had to waste 30 mins playing "content". Why did they do this?

I understand now why Smash is so popular with casuals. It's insanely simple to pick up and you can just jump around like a spastic with little regard to spacing.

That isn't equivalent at all. Juri was in the promos leading up to release, then she wasn't there at launch and you had to either spend real money on her or use a F2P currency in a full priced game.

necalli is the most balanced character in fg history. he has no exceedingly good matches and no bullshit gimmicks. just pure honest pressure and mixups between attacks and throws. he only has bad matches against top tier characters because they are broken and can easily take advantage of his poor normal range and pressure him non stop.
