If it's got the multi-purpose rear, it's a decent handler that could do better, but the main issue is that curb weight of 3300lbs

honestly, the hyundai is still gonna be cheaper and probably more reliable than the VW (although that isnt saying much). you should wait until reviews come out since hyundai is currently infamous for poor steering and soft suspension
