Can we get a sad Craigslist ad thread going?

I found this ad of an 88 year old man selling his BJ40 that he purchased almost 40 years ago.

Fuck man, I'm sure someone else would love to have it.

tl;dr
>Car stolen from mother with rare blood disease that she uses to get to and from the hospital
>Most likely a death sentence

>handicap accessible van for sale
>mini-jazzy also available

I'll let you figure out who died in this situation

Whoops

the sad part is they put $120 000 in the headline. it's a steal at $12 000

Turbo diesel in a 40 series is not stock, so i dont know what he means by original engine and drive train

>Find a Jesse Pinkman Tercel SR5 4wd wagon 6-speed manual nearby.
>Asking $1,000
>Some wiring issues but it runs and has a title.
>No reason to sell my current car.
>No reason / space / finances for another car.

Pic related

Did those come in RWD?

No they did not unfortunately.

>b r r r r r r

Had a audible kek I thank you me lad

It's all fishy

Honestly that's too much for it.

>Turbo diesel in a 40 series is not stock

This.

I'd be suspicious of the faithfulness of the restoration and other mods.

California has the worst CL ever.

Cute

Imagine making it through the Great Depression and WWII only to turn into a platform for ugly fat women to dry hump

As a californian I have to agree

No scammers, he knows what he's got.

I really want that OP.

that's really sad user, I didn't expect to feel this much when I came here

Might as well share my sad craigslist story.

>looking for a classic car to tinker on
>see a 1971 Torino in great shape but caked in filth
>contact the guy, his wife answers all of my question
>original owner, restored the car 10 years ago and spent hundreds of hours on it but it has been sitting since then and has had mice ruin some of the interior and wiring
>go and see it, it's basically a perfect car minus some dirt and a couple wires being chewed, I mean meticulously restored, every nut and bolt but it had just sat afterwards
>his wife shows it to me and then we drive to the hospital after I agree to purchase it
>he signs off the car in a hospital bed, says that he is glad another young man is getting the car and made me promise to take care of it
>told me that he bought it after being wounded in Vietnam, it was his dream car and he overspent on it and had to work a shitty second job cleaning chicken coops to afford it
>he proposed to his wife in it and put 200,000 miles on it before finally deciding to make it new again
>had $15,000 in parts receipts for every wearable not-restorable part on the car
>only had one son who he wanted to pass the car down to but he had died in a drunk driving accident on a motorcycle when he was only 17
>cried when he handed me the keys and thanked me for helping with finances for his wife
>2 months later I called him to ask if he knew where the build sheet was for it and it turns out he passed away
>his wife invites me to the funeral, I say I'll bring the car, work like a mad man to finish it
>she made a spot right in front of the funeral home for me to park

whoever stole the car deserves to get fucking tortured to death

user that story better not be true

I'd ask if the car's had its suspension repaired since those women sat on it.

That's a really sweet story. Pics of car?

fucking hell
You still got it? I hope you took it to the funeral

All of the pics I have of it are posted on forums under my real name so I'd rather not have people doing a reverse image search on it.

Of course. All of his friends and relatives instantly recognized the car. Many even worked on the car with him before he became ill.

I use it as a weekend driver and show car.

>All of the pics I have of it are posted on forums under my real name so I'd rather not have people doing a reverse image search on it.

Proof that no one on Veeky Forums actually has a car.

>not just going to every classic car site with a torino section
>not going to every torino club site
>not checking them on facebook
>not scouring facebook for his torino

I mean if I wasn't a lazy fuck I'd do it.

>cat back

>be me
>only buy neglected shitboxes
>that no one really cares about
>or put time into
>will never have these feels about a vehicle
conversely
>be me (poorfag)
>only buy really cheap and surplus military firearms
>so of course i have a M/N 91/30
>moist nugget was a re-arsenal
>counterbored and replacement parts from triangle not star like barrel and receiver
>most replaced parts were on bottom of gun
>stock has weird wood color where someone would grip
>and right side of rifle stock has at least 5 pieces of shrapnel
>when i restocked it there was random grass blades under the barrel
>can't not think about the russian
>who probably caught an upper body full of shrapnel
>holding the gun that is now mine

Here's my used car story
>car was totaled in hit and run
>trying everywhere to find another one like it
>there's one in my neighborhood that I never see move
>one day go up to the door and ask about it
>old guy answers
>oh yeah that car is my son's, he completely rebuilt the suspension and all kinds of stuff on it
>he's been battling brain cancer though
>I've been clearing out the garage so I can move it inside
>I don't have any intention of selling it though
Fast forward a few months
>Driving down the street
>Notice the car is pushed down the driveway
>For sale sign in the windshield
>Wait a few days to give him a call
>Finally do, old guy answers
>Don't mention his son, just talk about the car
>End up buying the car for way less than it's worth
>Dad signs over the title, see it's under his "OR" his sons name
>Dad starts to tear up
RIP Andrew, I hope I can finish what you started.

I got somethin
milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/d/dodge-street-rod-diesel/6227280336.html

I have a Finnish capture mosin that has notches carved into the stock. Almost all the finish has been rubbed off so I'm sure it's been used. Anyway, car story. I bought my 79 Trans am my senior year of high school, It was my first car and I drove it every day to school and then college. The 403 is very tired but luckily I have the money to procure a Pontiac 400 to get it back on the road.

Diesel engine, 10,000 rpm tac. Yeah, I teared up a bit.

But didn't you know that if it runs on that particular fuel it'll last forever?

>Tfw you miss the whole point of the thread
Forgot to mention the dude I bought it from either really needed the money, it was too much of a project for him or he didn't want the son in law to get it.
>show up to house
>son in law is sitting on the porch asking what I'm doing there
>Tell him I'm buying the Trans am
>he's in surprise and states it was going to be his car
>dude comes out and gets pissed at son in law
>guy says he was building it for his grandson but didn't say more.
Kinda contemplating weather or not to send him pics of all the progress I've made of it since I felt like he didn't really want to let it go.

But I was told when a boomer dies an angel gets it's wings. Not true?

fuck off with your ageism

>Particular fuel it'll last forever
How about this 240D that comes with 150 gallons of fry oil and a filtration system?

Damn... that fuckin sucks

I think I remember that movie

spacecoast.craigslist.org/cto/d/mazda-miata/6192821315.html

miata with benz parts

there's no way that mileage is correct... right?

Reminds me of a car this Mexican guy in my city owns.
>1998 Civic 4 door body and doors
>Corvette rear bumper, exhaust, and tailights
>GMC Yukon front bumper and headlights

My sad Craigslist story is that I found a Subaru Brat that had been restored, perfect interior, rebuilt motor, perfect body, nicely painted, even came with the super rare camper shell.

I was just barely able to afford it at the time, and the car was 200 miles away, so I had to arrage to take time off work and bring a friend to drive back my old car.
The wonderful thing sold before I could go check it out. I hope whoever got it keeps it stock, or at least builds a nice tranny and differential for it and leaves the body alone :,)

CA craigslist has a lot of idiots and has made me a lot of $$$. I'd have to disagree

>previous owner pictured

fuck ;_;

houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/show-ready-mustang-fastback/6230473093.html

>boomer ruins mustang fastback only to not even drive it and sell it because he "needs the space for bikes"

houston.craigslist.org/cto/d/one-of-kind-audi-b-ultra/6222285704.html

nevermind that mustang i fucking win

The fact that he got an actually good looking cosplayer to pose with the car is both highly entertaining and impressive. Still, what the actual fuck.

This is what happens when /a/ leaves the house and gets a job.

>for my 88 years old uncle
Yes, outside of 'murica, where people do not live on nothing but McDonalds nuggets, it's actually possible to reach an age of 88.

Yep you will never find a beat up running car under $1,000 like other places especially if it's manual
>t.california guy
