Flaw of the styles itself. Wonder if in the case that MH5 retains styles they'll fix this.

And that's a core problem with styles in general. Only a few weapons truly benefit from the style diversity.

I hope they drop or merge some styles. Some of them render others redundant and while a few just don't do enough to stand on its own.

If I were in charge, I'd merge Aerial style into Guild, being able to hop onto the monster is a good idea and was masterfully executed in a natural manner (gaining air from jumping on a monsters back as opposed to Bushido's dodge that defies physics). When you roll, just press the roll button in a specific time window to hop.

Then I'd drop Striker and force Lance users to use the multi-finisher.

I don't use lance because it's nothing but chargespam. But it's a good example of alternate playstyles with the base moveset. Really, without huge moveset changes, I don't see how any other weapon can have varied styles.

at the very least it's somewhere around 2-3 mainline games worth of monsters and areas you've never seen before. some of them are shit, some of them are great. all of them have better music than mainline will ever have.

fair enough, mainline has some good music for sure but there are far more memorable tracks from frontier in the short time i have been able to spend with it.

most of the recent mainline music has been absolutely terrible, though. the steve theme, the apex theme and the deviant theme all sound like audio diarrhea
