That'd be hard to officiate, only does 195 damage on a crit so you'd have to resupply both engies every 0.79 seconds to make sure you didn't get a non-critical finish. Would take forever to get a champion out of that.

Out of all the unlocks the southern hospitality is the most meh unlock out there. There is no need to fix it to be honest.

Why is the third degree a straight upgrade of the fire axe?

It is in theory, but in practice it's nearly as useless as the stock axe.
The third degree, while it is technically a direct upgrade, isn't really useful compared to other melees. Other melees have a lot of utility that makes them useful, while the 'direct upgrade' just gives you a chance to hurt the medic as he's healing somebody. Which, will probably get you killed because you're basically trying to wack the medic to death while a spun up heavy mows you down.

I really don't see anybody in their right mind using it over other melees, other than "muh direct upgrade".

It's better than the volcano fragment. That thing has no use whatsoever.

I'm thinking about a few variety. Either it gets a higher explosion resistance (does not apply for self-damage) for turtling
OR
Higher heal rate from Dispensers for turtling again, that would make it a strong counterpart
OR
an active ability about destroying your own building to blown away who's nearby. May be both.
Think about blastjumping from top of teleporters. Also this ability should give command even when the building being sapped.
Think of:
>"Spah sappin' mah teleporter"
>start wrenching tele-exit
>clanking goes on for a minute
>Engi flips Destruction tool and blasts Spy away

That's how I would fix it. Bleeding damage is worthless now and Engi don't have any "damage built requirement" arsenal.
A new ability or some nerf tweaks on Spy's cloak required to fix that weapon.

The blast radius penalty is negligible if you treat it like a DH and are relatively close to your target.
