Make: Chevrolet Model: Equinox Style: LS 4DR SUV FWD A5 Engine: 3.4L Gasoline V6
It has 94k miles on it, and the oil hasn't been changed in a year. Oil looked thick and was really low. Took it for a test drive it had a rough start and a quiet scraping noise coming from the left side when driving slow. The owner said they only drive it about a couple times a week to get groceries and go to church(there my aunts two retired neighbors).
The doors only unlock automatically sometimes from the key and never from the door. The brake light is almost falling out/loose. There are some small dents/scratches and a couple big ones along with paint chipping.
Are these problems easy to fix? Are there scratches and dents fixable?
my ex wife had one with that some v6 in it. I had nothing but problems. i worked on the damn thing non stop for almost 3 years before i told her i wasn't fixing it anymore.
i replaced almost everything except the engine block. it is a shitty engine, and exactly what i expected from a chevy.
Old people and boomers never take care of their cars, dude. Do not buy a church car from old fucks. They probably never changed the fluids or did regular maintenance. The thick oil and body damage should serve as a sign of whats to come. Get them down to maybe 2k or 1500 and prepare to spend that much getting it looking good and functional again. Also, its a goddam chevy. The engine will probably shit itself and fight you to make it to 150k. Why are you even considering buying a post bailout american car for this much? Walk up to them with 1100 and not a dime over and maybe you can make this work.
Don't buy it. It's easy to tell that it was owned by people that didn't care to maintain it.

Personal opinion, if I was in the states I'd go for this.
Focus SVTs are tremendously nice.

what are your thoughts on my friends 09 ford fusion sel with 125k miles on it for $4000. Not to sound like a fuck but I want a car that at least looks decent. I also cant drive stick.
The mazda 3 looks nice but doesn't 241k miles seem high?

If you can't drive stick then I suggest you learn with one.
I don't have any opinions on the Fusion but 4k can get you something much nicer and reliable.

Buying a friends car either goes great or terribly. Will you resent him if it turns into a complete shitbox and needs expensive repairs? Buying a car is business and it's best to not do business with friends.
Stop being a fag and learn manual. That 98 civic is almost mint.
He got it from his aunt last year in shitty condition and has been fixing it up constantly. He told me its good now ive literally know this guy for 15 years I would hope he woundnt fuck me over
How much would a new trans cost if I fuck it up learning to drive stick
