i played the beta and found it not enjoyable. i got poor performance unless i used 25 percent internal resolution which was cinematic 30 fps, EXCEPT for a few areas around the map. i was really disappointed in that. i also disliked how big the maps were. i didn't get to try dueling, because firstly i didn't have three champions (what?), and secondly i wasn't sure if my computer is good enough to do well at all, but if you are supposed to duel on the two maps they have available i could see it as being boring. i really hated playing as sorlag even if "she" was just a lizardgirl (but i also have no fucking clue what sorlag looks like even having played quake 3, i see why they redesigned the character). i hope by release it runs better somehow but im afraid it will only run worse, they really need to optimize

How do I get started with defrag? Can I play it for free? Which game do I need and what's the best place to get maps from?
Coming from TF2, I'd prefer maps with more rocket jumping and less strafe jumping, but I'm open for everything. I just want to get a feel for the movement in Quake. The only FPS games I've played are TF2 and UT2k4 and the movement in Quake feels completely off to me. I keep running into walls and my rocket jumps aren't high enough. I need to get used to it, since I'll probably play QC for a few years until UT4 is finished. Any chance QC will have a defrag mod?
Also, are there any trickjump maps for UT?

Ralph's said something on his stream very recently when asked about his plans for his future. "Quake champions is supposedly coming out around the same time as overwatch league" I don't know shit about overwatch, so I googled it and it seems that'll be around the start of next year 2018.
It seems like he works closely with the devs and is in contact with them frequently so I'd say his guess is pretty well educated. But I hope he's wrong, I can't wait that long.
