On other online boards, it would be possible to schedule an event on the same weekend as Anime Explo. That's because the members of those boards have a very low percentage of anime fans. But on Veeky Forums, many of its users are also familiar with anime and anime fandom activities and will have committed to go to AX many months in advance.
The important thing was that Hammerknife used that date because OTHER people complained that other dates were bad. I am interested if Hammerknife noticed whether or not those people who had him move the date actually showed up. If those people who had the date moved to July 4th then did not show up, isn't that a troll on their part? Those who had the date moved have a moral obligation to show up. Otherwise, their complaining was insincere as well as making it hard for others to show up.
