Should I get a third gen trans am/camaro or an early 00s ws6? I like the speed of the latter but the style and DEM ANGLES of the third gen just looks so Eunice compared to the bathtubs on the road today. I'm just worried about maintenance. I only make $14 hour and I need to spend money on school.

If you like the style I say go for what you like looks wise. If you keep it long term you can always build it up.

I really like turd gen Camaros. I just wish I could justify spending 5000 euros on a base model 305 autotragic in poor condition. An IROC-Z in decent condition is over 10k.

I went through this exact same process op. Wanted a third gen for looks but wanted a fourth gen for power. Definitely buy a third gen if you like the looks. Get one with a 350, years 87-92 had them. Then you can fix up the motor and the end result is the best of both worlds.

Do you want a piece of shit with less than 200 stock HP or more modern car pushing 400?

Even not factoring in how bad the 3rd gens are, keep in mind they're up to 35 years old at this point.

I think buying a 302 with a manual is better. Swapping the engine is easier than manual swapping.

All 350s came with tuned port injection. Fuel injection in general is for plebs though

They're small block Chevys, everything is cheap. It's an old car though, anything that age is going to have problems. You'll probably want to buy a clean one, then drive your current shitbox for a while longer while you go through the suspension, brakes, tires, etc that's all a million years old before you daily it or take it on any long trips.

85+ IROC-Zs had a 305 with TPI, and 87+ had an optional 350 with TPI as well. It literally says it on the badge on the rear bumper and on the side skirts.
