Alright, are we really entering a "most heroes good" situation? It used to be that just 4 heroes were good and everyone else was just filler. Those four heroes cycled quickly, like when Diablo+Tyrande was by far the best or when you could only play Kael or Mingas Assassins.

So what the fuck do you do in draft? I once first picked Auriel like a moron and got told off, because guess what, a character being good doesn't mean they are first pick.

I have all heroes but like 7. I basically play everything. Last time I did placements, I got 6 wins but my most wins with a particular character was 1.

I keep trying to fill holes and counter the enemy team, but shit's more complicated than it seems.

Everything is good, but not all the time. You need to know maps and counters to draft proper.

For example, don't take Xul on any map that isn't spider queen, towers of doom, or Blackhearts. When you take him on those maps you get full value from his strengths, but on other maps he's outclassed by other heroes.

Same goes for all heroes, you just need to know them all and when they are good and why.

Ragnaros may as well be a fucking tank with how much healing that asshole has

There's a lot of depth in drafts, sometimes countering the enemy team just isn't enough.

Even great combos don't always work in optimal situations. There is a lot of room for error and superb map play from the enemy team that can invalidate your countering.

Maybe a deserve Gold 5 then.

Play comfort to get out of gold/plat, then use your draft abilities in diamond +.

Gold players often have the issue of relying on counters and tier lists and put themselves in situations where they simply aren't good enough on the heroes they pick to win.

Gul'dan is always a good choice. Good damage, great wave clear, amazing ult.

Ranged heroes, try Raynor for the long range, get-off button and his self-heal. He's the most fundamental hero there is. Playing him well translates into playing ANY ranged AA well.

If it's less straightforward damage, try Tass. He's nigh immortal if you're not shit and can dish out a lot of damage with Archon, and particularly with the endless archon upgrade. Good waveclear and siege, too.
