How much money would I have to spend on my Civic Si to beat my coworker? He has a stock 2013 GT500. I only really want to spend like 3k so I would love some tips. I have a friend who can install all the stuff for cheap so I dont really have to worry about labor.

heres what im thinking right now:

Depends on racing conditions. If you're going from a dig you can forget ever coming close to it. By the time your turbo spools up the gt500 will be a spec on the horizon. On the highway there's a good chance you can win if you do end up getting a turbo and a tune.

Cheap miata and rebuild it with forged internals, such a build could put out 350hp reasonably reliably. should cost you about 7,000$ for that.
Or
Get a Foxbody mustang and tune the motor to about 500hp. That's going to cost about the same.

Same, I am only building my crx to be in the 13's because I don't want t run slicks or spend too much money but I do know there are lots of crazy fast hondas much faster than mine.

I'd probably go for an LS or rwd nissan if I was aiming to build something like that though.
