Story chalices might not give you that many, I usually farm enemies for it with stacking Eye runes. Otherwise, Sinister Depth 5 dungeons work well since they have the same loot pool as FRC, and can give you the materials you need from loot or enemy drops.

I always have a shitton of Sage's Hair because its a fairly common drop from Yeeeart the Hedgehogs. I farm Yellow Backbones at, if I recall correctly, casu4dqm. There is a mummy pretty much right after the L1 lamp that is really easy to backstab. For bastards I usually just run story loran.

Laurence is a joke. Only boss that is tough is HMPH without parries.

The weapon's great, the build will have the most variety for Blt without going 50/50 Skl/Blt. 14 Str is enough for it since tricked scales only with Blt and untricked is inferior. You could get 28/30 Str for big guns and some usage of the untricked mode.

I'm not really defending DaS3 because I absolutely fucking hate that they didn't revamp all the moveset and reused shitty plastic animations from 1, but it does have poise and had for quite a while now.
Poise in general is a shitty system though that is absolutely inferior to hyperarmour, which is also why BB is superior.
