So the mig29 just has like the hud radar and no doppler radar like the su27 has? so the mig29 radar just scans the area directly in front of the plane and im not able to pick anyone up past like 10 and 2?

No, its radar is a doppler radar, it just doesn't have the display (which is more than just a radar display) that the Su-27 has.
