I see that X3 has 4 different versions: SNES, Windows, Playstation, Saturn

Which version was the intended one during development and which is the best?

Snes has better soundtrack, Playstation has Anime, Saturn is just shit, I didn't know about Windows

I personally prefer the SNES version, but PS is pretty fun control-wise in some parts

You might call the "intended" version the SNes version. They were just porting the SNes game to PSX and Saturn, and added a little bit of extra content to make it appealing (by remixing the soundtrack and sound effects as well as adding short animations). And because of Saturn's resolution it has borders on the screen. That should be about the only difference between it and PSX's, though.

The PC version is just a port of the CD versions.

Not having a team used to make 3D games, I presume.

Then on top of the game itself, the presentation in X7 was hurt even further with that terrible dub job that they did for the English release.

It felt like the same quality of voice actors made a return for ZXA's dub, which was unfortunate considering how well X8 and Command Mission were handled.

I noticed that in CM every spoke really fucking slow for no reason other than that the character animations in the cutscenes were just as sluggish.
