More and more cars are SUV or Trucks. So the crash safety ratings caused all the sedan makers to have higher fronts and backs. Otherwise, all the cars would slide under the SUV or truck in an accident.
So, you can blame the sedan greater height and lessened visibility changes on how the average height of cars increased so much due to the SUV and Crossover category outselling the Sedan category.
