I had a HuMo run earlier, oka gifted me weapons 70% of the time while i was uc, i had 0 throwing as well just like in any familiar throwing skill and i got atleast 6 slings

Nah it's mostly just laziness. The general is slow enough so there's no problem with people drowning out the reply with inane posts so it's not really needed

Snake runs into his first issue. Got grabbed and got. I can only cauterize the wound, which shouldn't be an issue but I will be debilitated for a day or two. On the bright side, I have found a nice tool set; a hammer, screwdriver and hacksaw. I'll probably have to spend a day or two making the shelter a little nicer.

Actually, it wasn't even that bad. Only got 16 pain from cauterizing. I seem to remember getting debilitating amounts of pain when you tried to pull that off. Oh well, I'm still going to gussy up the shelter in the mean time.

so it's fairly likely to roll only 67,
but getting as low as 45% resist for one breath is something like a 1 in 32,000 chance

if you have a lotta hp you're still safe but if you're counting on monster breaths to do 1 less damage than you have maxhp you are gonna get killed by the rng

I have a dream

Built ourselves a little hobo hovel, with a new bed and some cabinets. We also disassembled all the benches and lockers, to be used for supplies later. This will likely be our home for a year or so. Our next order of business is finding a wrench to take apart a charcoal smoker, building a corpse cart to move all the corpses closer to home for processing, and securing enough water to live until it actually starts raining. We also have enough food to start exploring, but with a hospital to our west, a hotel and home improvement store to our east (!!!), the town to our south and a military blockade to our north, that doesn't look so bright. Perhaps once we have a better weapon.

Alright this beorning thing seems a big annoying.

You get your "transform into a bear" power at level 2, but instead of a toggle or something it's a timed buff
and every time it expires you have to re-cast it, and then also go into the menu and change your melee combat style back from "weapon combat" to "bearform combat" so you actually claw at things instead of attacking with your 1d1+0 empty hands

Stupid question but in Nethack 4 is there a way to change the font size? The font is for ants I swear. I'm tempted to just play Dynahack instead.

font settings should be tied to the terminal/console rather than the game

With Nethack you're shit out of luck unless you either play on Linux or you play via SSH on one of the online servers

If you're on Windows, then use a different console instead of the regular Windows Console. ConEmu will give you a lot more flexibility once you get it up and running.

i haven't been paying much attention to this "COBRA" but from the tidbits I've read he likes Nagas, shields, statue form, tornado, plays fast and tries to go for low tumcounts

No, I mean that he could play something other than a NaFi^Mahkleb or Gozag that casts tornado and lichform. COBRA is good at what he knows, but he makes mistakes simply because he doesn't have as much knowledge outside of how to tab. In contrast, Tittycrusher could play pretty much any race/backround and be successful. I've spectated both players, and would say that Tittycrusher was the far stronger player.
