1 grenade + a few flames is less costly and easier to apply than 1 grenade + 1 rocket / shotgun etc plus pyro is pretty fast in tfc

That only appeals if you have a team with enough awareness and know how positon for height advantage when a Spy is around.

You seem to be laboring under the misconception that because something is underpowered that it can't be very unfun to fight against and make the game worse overall, especially when it is popular.

DR spies barely register as a minor annoyance, it takes less than a second to shoot him and then get back to actually playing the game while he scrambles to find a health/ammo kit. If your team has trouble with a single DR spy, you have bigger issues than just him.

In comp dead ringer is shit because you're essentially a man down while the spy is sneaking around contributing jack and shit to the team effort. In pubs, half of any given team is basically fucking around, (including the quintessential pub afk) so a dead ringer spy has plenty of time and space to maneuver due to the other team's incompetence and inability to focus on an objective.
This is also the reason why dr spies are typically better on defense, as it is quite difficult for a blu spy to carry his retarded, non-committal team to victory.

You can't expect everyone you play with to be at the same skill level. Sometimes you get really bad teammates, sometimes you get really nice going ones. That's why Mr.Pally still stabs gibus Heavies.
Still, I agree that DR is not that annoying because COMPARED to pre-nerf, now it's somewhat manageable. Still it doesn't change the fact that it's unfun to play against. If Spy made a slip-up he should be dead, if it's not dead its recovery time should be expanded by other artificial means, even close to his respawn timer. I shouldn't see that scoundrel's face again for 15 seconds at least.

I would, because I'm not a dumb shit pub medic. I don't ask for, need or want ubers most of the time but I get mediguns up my bum constantly. A pub med sees unusuals and thinks, "hey, this guy's got effects n' shit, he's gonna get me some points" and that's the only thing they think.
