Am I cheating if I get a slightly early start on monster jam?
Samuel Myers
>2017 >Still not a single decent 3D lib existing. Why
Hunter Morris
Yes, you monster
Evan Powell
Make one
Daniel Edwards
I don't have 5-10 years of free time.
Justin Cooper
By the way, don't watch this video; go play the game instead. It's actually a really cool puzzle game once you figure it out (which is kind of tricky).
Oliver Mitchell
Then stop complaining
Leo Sullivan
Is anybody here making a game on LOVE?
Gabriel Cruz
Also what's the simpliest free engine?
Angel Ward
Simplest as in easiest to use?
Probably Game Maker... I don't know how Godot compares, but the others I've used have been wonky as fuck.
Jackson Martinez
im having some real trouble trying to design a mostly anarchical world where there a couple NPC in secured zones to keep the order and peace from bad players outside
Jeremiah Mitchell
wasteland with rusty but powerful robotic sentinels
Owen Carter
yeah but if the (very high level) players cant kill them it would go against the design of my game
so what would be the reason for them to respawn
Jaxon Thomas
and by that I mean the world would mostly be pvp but players could be safe in some secure zones
James Young
There's a supercomputer buried underground that produces the sentinels to guard itself When the sentinels are destroyed, the supercomputer builds more of them
Colton Morgan
hmmmm
gives me some ideas
thanks
Tyler Ramirez
>tfw you can't render a single sprite and some text at 60fps in webgl >same thing renders fine on canvas >gives weird visual artefacts no matter what html5 was a mistake
Simplest as in "most minimalistic", "will take the least time to learn", "makes the most sense once you know it", or "has good tutorials and documentation"?
>so what would be the reason for them to respawn They're a more advanced life form/dickass ai/god/etc. studying humans. Every time players kill one, it respawns, and they all get slightly stronger.
Andrew Morris
Is the guy who post reload animations of old weapons here? Do you use blender? its a newbie question though. Assuming that there is a human - Controller And a gun - prop Should i put the gun and the human in one blend file and animate them together? sorry guys. I just really need some enlightenment because im a bit confused on how to do animations with props.
Wyatt Davis
I CANT COME UP WITH A GAME IDEA
Charles Lewis
>will take the least time to learn This.
Liam Cox
What do you like user? Maybe we can give you some hints.
Juan Carter
Inventories.
What's better?
Pressing a button and having access to everything in a separate screen?(Party/Quests/Skills/Crafting)
or
Pressing a button which brings up a radial menu, select your option and a window pops up.
Matthew Allen
I think in the same screen goes faster than in a different one.
Ryder Perry
Neither. Stop copying existing games and come up with something revolutionary.
The whole concept of "menus" is outdated. You should be able to press CTRL + G, type 'hea', see "Health Potion" auto-complete and then press enter to instantly use the potion.
Nathaniel Moore
Depends on the game I would say, if the inventory has a lot of tabs I would appreciate a radial menu.
Zachary Lee
Every item in the game should be mapped to a unique button on your keyboard
Jason Ortiz
I can't tell if bait or or /g/entooman
Jordan Adams
First Old God is ready for the new version. Two or three more to go
Josiah Thompson
I agree plus it's easier to juice, but nier has given me second thoughts.
>come up with something revolutionary Yeah because that's a piece of cake.
>CTRL + G, type 'hea' Don't think every console player is going to have a keyboard user.
>Depends on the game I would say I guess any game that has you spending a large amount of time digging through an inventory would be more suited for a separate screen.
what
Jack Evans
>resting increases DOOM penalty lol that sounds foreboding as fuck
You have 10 seconds to come up with an original game based around Tarot Cards.
Nolan Sullivan
youre not stealing my ideas today nodev
Dominic Walker
the house of the dead
Jack Johnson
>Small-scale moba/RTS. >players receives a whole deck of tarot cards >each card has one use only and can be used both as unit you control and spell/effect like >Knight of cups is a mounted unit or area-of-effect charge boost spell
Jayden Martinez
Each card represents weapons and special abilities for your battle mech and then you fight other players to the death.
Brayden Bell
You have to execute virgin witches by shoving tarot cards into their pussies. Each card transforms into different object inside because of witch's unholy magic.
Aaron Collins
...
Juan Martinez
Roguelite where you travel from room to room collecting tarot cards. The tarot cards are used to generate the next room, like a key. They're consumed after use. The contents of the next room depend on the tarot card you used. One card will make the room more dangerous, another might add certain treasure, one has a healing fountain, etc. You can throw in minor arcana cards for even more customization.
Daniel Richardson
I like this idea
Adrian Richardson
i recently made a tumblr for my game, how do i know if it got views or reposts or whatever? just my follower count?
Benjamin Green
What's the game?
Carter Myers
notes/likes will show up on your post. you'll know if it got reblogged
John Moore
on your dashboard in the upper right corner click the icon of a dude -> activity
Logan Cook
this pile of shit
Ryan Carter
Stealing this
Cameron Lewis
There was a game on one LD exactly as you described it. Only you couldn't choose what card to use, they were used randomly by roulette.
Xavier Carter
Image is a bit small, but from looking it's seems you are putting effort. Nice.
Asher Morales
You have 20 seconds to come up with a game idea that has no living beings or beings resembling a living being.
Gabriel Green
background is a placeholder
Christopher Morris
Any racing game if you replace the drivers with some levers
Carter Moore
Manufacture production line builder.
Jack Morgan
Space sandbox game
Anthony Davis
where the good agdg games at
William Sanders
Good morning /agdg/! What are you working on today?
Benjamin Baker
Walk cycle for new character.
Austin Russell
Today I will plan some of the features for my image editor
Thomas Young
Yes. But it's okay, I'm starting early too.
Juan White
Brainstorming on new forced memes and techniques to derail and distract /agdg/ with
Andrew Hall
>it's another topdown shooter with rotating guns >it's another sidescrolling platformer with a gimmick >it's another sidescrolling rpg with roguelike elements >it's another room-based, semi-procedurally generated roguelite >it's another metroidvania
Blake Adams
>it's another 3D risk of rain
soon
Julian Davis
What are YOU working on today?
Joseph Lewis
Restore project to pre DD14 build state and then art, sound, code. Order doesn't matter, it all needs to be done and in vast quantities.
Kayden Miller
>it's another overly ambitious ue4 game that will never be finished
Charles Gray
>colors DROPPED
Brandon Wood
What is the best idea you've seen recently.
Joshua King
making a bunch of nice inspector editors to make managing my scripts easier.
Asher Adams
>it's another videogame
Ethan Howard
If you have any better ideas I am listening
Leo Miller
A lock on system for a 2d top down shooter (no rotating guns).
James White
Trying to make a fire emblem-like game. So far I've got it so all moveable tiles are highlighted.
Easton Ward
what's wrong with rotating guns?
Lucas Adams
Nothing, it's a meme.
Daniel Thomas
agdg told me it was bad and that's good enough for me. Seriously, I'm not putting them in because I dislike mouse controls in my 2d games.
Noah Walker
>t. dev using rotating guns
Jaxon Ross
>Making a strategy game >All the mechanics work well >Too dumb to make an AI that uses them correctly
Andrew Johnson
i give up
Hudson Sanders
i give up too
Liam James
i persevere
Ryder Howard
I gave up way before giving up was cool. You're just a bunch of bandwagoning hipsters.
redbox is draw rectangle , blue box is a pre drawn sprite
Oliver Jones
Inventory + gamepad = sucks. Perhaps, you shouldn't have an inventory at all. Instead, a character should be able to carry a limited number of items, all bound to specific keys. When picking up an item, you throw away an existing one.
