Looking to buy my first car to start flexing out in public and drifting.
I'm mainly looking for Japanese-make RWD cars made in the mid 80s - early 90s. Here are a couple cars I have written down on hand that I potentially wanna cop.
A Cadillac Eldorado hearse, because you should probably just fucking kill yourself.
Tyler Sullivan
>CRX >RWD >Drift car
Nigger what?
Chase Adams
>My budget is around $2500 You can knock off every Japanese car on your list, consider a Pontiac Fiero or something.
Juan Myers
"drifting and autocross is for the week, we only do maximum velocity"
Zachary Ward
all of those are either too expensive, shit, or both. get a fucking 240sx or some other shitbox nissan.
Jose Wright
literally none of those fit within your budget, even with the "couple grand more." you will be in for 5k+ off the bat with most of those.
>NSX >Skyline >AE86 >$2500 lord no. have i been troleld?
Ayden Roberts
I've seen a couple AE86s in my area get sold for $2000 and $5000. Hell, I was about to buy an '85 Celica Supra for $2.5k but I needed the $$$ at the time. But I ain't a total broke nigger, I'm willing to go up to $8000+ if the deal is right. I'm in no rush.
Luke Nelson
everyone go home, OP is a retard.
Jayden Hernandez
>What's good
Fuck off nigger
Benjamin Phillips
those were probably sr5s, ie ae85s basically the supra would probably be close to death via head gasket failure here's the reality: you can find 30-40 year old cars that are still running well, and you can find 30-40 year old cars for cheap, but you will very, very rarely find one that is both and certainly not the types you're looking for t. constantly looking for pre-75 cars here in california to work on
Chase Hill
e36
Jacob Perez
>Honda NSX >$2500
LMAO.
You could probably get an NSX fender for that much
Jeremiah Parker
Drifting for 2.5k in socal >mk2 supra N/a not very powerful, L-types don't have an lsd so you would have to weld it >mk3 supra Heavy >Ae86 Good luck. If you do find one for that price it's either a pos or an auto sedan with drum brakes in the rear. >mr2 Not well suited for what you want >all Hondas in your price range Not rwd >starion Have fun waiting for months to find one in any salvageable state >240sx Muh jdm and you can occasionally find decent ones albeit usually automatic around your price range
Gavin Smith
The only correct answer
E36 325i/is
>stupid cheap >has enough power to get sideways stock >plentiful aftermarket >some came with LSD's >reliable >and looks good
Evan Richardson
>cheap faggot options -first gen nissan sentra/datsun 810 -first/second gen celica -nissan 240sx -e70 corolla - bimmer
turbo cheap faggot options >nissan D21 >mazda B series >ford festiva aka mazda 121
Sebastian Bennett
>first gen celica >cheap what u talkin bout
William Robinson
jesus fucking christ
Nathan Cook
many clean, rwd jap cars have a tofu tax and will be too expensive
Dont get a honda if you want to drift, hondas are for grip driving. MR2 will be difficult to conrol in a drift because its mid engine. If you do get one, get the sw20 because the earlier AW11 is more unstable if youre trying to drift.
Look at old celica supras yeah, Nissan s12 and Toyota Soarer or lexus ls300, ls200
Dylan Thomas
literally none of those you stupid nigger all of these cars are out of your price range or are shit for what you want to do. if you want to drift for real just buy a foxbody or an sn95 with a v8 and be happy. huge aftermarket with a quickly growing section of drift parts due to 240s being priced into turbonigger range. if you want to be a JDM doofus buy something pedestrian and make it super fucking clean and everybody at meets will fondle your dong and wonder how you got such a clean example.
Ryan Wright
>Toyota MR2 Mid-engine isn't what you want for drifting >Toyota AE86 Corolla at least three times your budget for one in even mildly decent condition >Nissan Skyline GTR Add another zero to your budget >Honda CRX, Honda Prelude, Honda Integra Decent cars, but FWD so not for drifting >Honda NSX See "Skyline GTR" above, then double it.
But really nothing in your list is in your budget, and pretty much any car you get for $2500 will be a pile of shit.
Brayden Jones
>MR2 will be difficult to conrol in a drift because its mid engine. If you do get one, get the sw20 because the earlier AW11 is more unstable if youre trying to drift. WRONG WRONG SO FUCKING WRONG PLEASE DEAR GOD DON'T SAY RETARDED SHIT IN HERE AW11 is shorter wheelbase yes but has better suspension settings for stability and is less likely to kill this faggot
Parker Gomez
Thank you for saying it. I was about to.
Logan Mitchell
first droft car >AE 86 dude if you get it for that price, and its running, then you are god alighty , and even then you will fail becouse the tureno wont go sideways for a level 0 drifter.
Aiden Scott
Couldn't you just buy a Volvo for a piss-poor budget? At least you wouldn't be afraid to trash it.
Robert Bennett
a mustang gt could do the job in theory >decent power >lsd
Christopher Williams
how about non-jdm doriftos like the ford sierra, i'm thinking it's a nice DD plus it's RWD so i should theoretically be able to skid without butchering the diff or anything.
Michael Lopez
Haha holy shit.
Samuel Davis
>Drifting CRX Integra Prelude >2500 Dollar budget NSX Skyline GTR
I rate this bait 5/10
Michael Sanders
>240sx >Cheap those years are long gone
Jace Brown
>Z31
I have a bone stock 'chuki' 1986 turbo model. Ive replaced a lot that didnt need replacing. And replaced everything that needed it. Its at 112k miles.
For the right price its yours ;)
Oliver Lee
Look at your list of cars. Cross off all of the ones that you wouldn't be comfortable with running into a wall. That is how you find your first drift car.
Nathaniel King
This. >Own Stagea RSFour in NZ >Paid 5.6 for it, mint as fuck with all options >Stave in the side and completely buckle chassis, strut bar bent the hood >Sell it as is with front left tyre completely detached and transfer case in unknown condition, rear working fine >4k ASIS, buyer within 1 hour
I was p mad I sold it that fast.
Benjamin Mitchell
I'm looking for DD that I can use to hoon around on a weekend like once a month. How much power would the car need to get a drift going on a dry road? I have a small list and they all make 170...215hp, Diesel and petrol engines
Jace Thompson
Not a big fun of them, but just get a miata desu
Lincoln Adams
>prelude
Nigga i hate to disapoint you...
Nathan Edwards
maybe a cressida if you can find one?
Gabriel Sanders
I've found a mint mx83 cressida that I want. Not as a drift car, but just as a nice daily that could go sideways if I wanted. I really want a manual though, and these cars never came with a stick shift where I am. I've read that converting them is easy compared to other cars, but it's still a lot of work. Worth it?
Gavin Rodriguez
All that weeb shit.
Just get a donked Cutlass Supreme.
Leo Morgan
Is it worth it to you? There's your answer Imagine trying to control that
Jeremiah Hughes
hahaha this has to be a prank
Joseph Reyes
Kek this is a serious delusion of grandeur, nothing personnel kid
Gabriel Rodriguez
It can and would my V6 new edge can get sideways with just a sharp turn and ebrake However save an extra grand for buying panhard bars they fucking need em
Connor Bell
SC400
Michael Bell
>Public drifting >listing off every basic bitch ""JDM"" car >$2500 budget but sees an NSX or GTR as a possibility Bait, delete thread
Eli Ross
>all these cars >no 240sx >nsx >2500 >fwd hondas nigga is you serious?
Nathan Robinson

Jonathan Martinez
>Socal N I G G E R Y I G G E R Y
D I G G E R Y I G G E R Y
D O O O O
Jonathan Torres
Skyline GTR is out of the question, since drifting requires countersteering. And if you need to countersteer in an AWD, something is VERY wrong. Most you can do is skid while grip driving.
Most Hondas are FWD as well, which unless the situation allows for it (snow, rain), you won't be able to "drift". Powersliding is also a possibility. The NSX is possibly the only car from Honda capable of drifting from your list.
MR2's and Meme86's also suffer from snap-oversteer if you don't watch what you do.
Parker Jones
Just get a miata
Camden Adams
S13 that looks like this is worth $15k+
That type X kit alone is worth $2.5k lmao
Logan Garcia
>-first gen nissan sentra/datsun 810 bretty good suggestion, its pretty much an s130 with 4 doors, l28et will swap in.. or any nissan l series. The v8 swap kits for the s130 should fit as well if you have a weekend and $500 for an LS7 from a junk yard.
Evan Jenkins
OP if you have 2500, I'd suggest a 97-2003 Mustang. They are EXTREMELY cheap and common in Socal, check criegslist most are under 2600 if not less. Parts are common, and you get a v8. Manuals aren't too hard to find.
Good luck. Don't buy into meme jap cars.
Matthew Taylor
Mid night crubu
Evan Phillips
Made me laugh out loud friend
John Harris
Just get a 325i
Isaac Cox
