This game is beyond dead. CDPR killed it.

>discord link
YOU NEVER FUCKING LEARN DONT YOU
fuck off

>I want my general rather be dead but with a link noone clicks on anyway reee

Why is this place so autistic?

you worsen its state by adding a discord you moron

>Why is this place so autistic?
HA really brave of you calling us autistic, when you're the person who tries continuously to make it a thing, even tho we told you on multiple occasions that we don't want it.

leave and never come back roastie

I don't play this, but how is lifecoach doing?
is he high ranked? did he win anything or innovate anything

Finally got the email for the beta key. Do I have to download the GOG client onto my computer now? If not, how do I download it off the website?

Dling it now, pretty sure you need the launcher.

You need cock galaxy

So is this game actually dead or what? Or just the general is dead perhaps?

I think they just did another wave of beta keys since I just got one, used to play Hearthstone and was wondering if someone could explain Gwent's f2p model? Do you guys get something like daily quests or what?

Actually, the registrations for the Closed Beta of GWENT will shut down this weekend.
Announcement about Open Beta next week.
You can find more info on Gwent reddit.
This general is dead because there haven't been updates for a while, it will revive when the Open Beta starts.

There are daily quests, level up, rank up rewards. Pretty generous compared to HS.

This general and reddit is pretty much dead without game updates but the game is alive, you never have to wait more than 10s in queue for a game.

Anyone else noticed the secret to winning is to just push for 2-0. Even as Skellige I win 90% of games like this

I'm playing consume monster because I am a shitter who wants to rank as high as a I can before open beta. I have literally no golds for any other faction and control ST is raping me every single game.

Any tips? Should I switch to weather?

If you acknowledge any gods, start praying now

The game is doing fine. This general dies all the time because the 100-200 active users have all hit rank 15 by now, nothing left to discuss until tomorrow (huge tournament finals) and next week (open beta news)

Lifecoach is constantly in the top 100, he coined a meta deck during the february-march patch and his winrate is one of the highest in the top 100. He's good.

>game is beyond dead
>community is growing though
>queue times are short

Hmm....

Can't help but feel major Schadenfreude about Elder Scrolls Legends dying.

>Bethesda thinks cashing in on CCG market is easy
>outsources to a company who is known for making failed card gamed
>art and UI is shit
>it's the same Hearthstone-Magic stuff as every other CCG
>gwent has more active players and a larger community despite being in closed beta
>Bethesda wonders why it won't take off
Ayy

When can a card game be considered successful? How many players does it need? Is gwent far away from being successful? I want to know before I invest time and money in it (just got a beta key last week, it's my first card game).

A card game is really successful if it has 5-10 million accounts. Hearthstone has 80 million for example, but you obviously don't need that much. Currently gwent has around 200k accounts in closed beta which is good, especially since the community is enthusiastic and big. With correct marketing, continued support, PS4 release, mobile release, steam release (maybe even switch release) CDPR can easily reach 5 million accounts or more. According to them, they already made a small profit off the gwent beta which is great to hear.

Are they going to release more cards with the open beta? Or are these all the cards we get until an expansion?

I'd be surprised if we didn't get new cards with open beta.

Whats the most annoying faction in the game and why is it Skellige?

What are some significant characters and monsters from the books that haven't been added in Gwent? Would there be a long list?

>SK
>not ST
Rank up shitter.

Bonhart
Hotsporn

anyone excited for challenger?

I've only read the first books:

>Nivellen
>Vereena
>Shrike
>Zeugl
>Fishpeople

>Zeugl
Please no. CDPR has already turned that creature into too much of a meme

I'm a new player and im not sure how i should go about building towards a deck. Right now my favorite faction is scoia'tael, i've looked around for a budget deck but haven't been able to find anything hoping somebody here could help me.

>Essi Daven
>Queen Calanthe
>Auberon Muircetach
>Queen Meve
>Jarre
>Dorregaray
>Falka (Ciri)
>Mistle
>Marti Södergren

No. I'm actually pissed, because it's almost two weeks that shit is delaying open beta.

>because it's almost two weeks that shit is delaying open beta.
But user, Gwent is a serious esport

Help, just started this week. Which of these 3 do i pick? Caretaker, or Menno Coehoorn or Aglais?

Aglais is pretty much the core gold card for ST chain scorch meme deck.

Letho

List would be super long.

Bonhart
Coen
The Rats (6 persons in total)
Angouleme
Skellens men (Joanna Selborne, Boreas Mun, many others)
Jarre (easily the best character in the books)
Fabio Sachs
Auberon
Filavandrel
Niedamir
Meve

And many many more.

If ST, Aglais.
If monsters, Caretaker.
If Nilfgaard, Caretaker or Aglais.

Menno is bad. The others are crazy good.

Thanks guys. I'll go with caretaker then. I think I probably won't have enough time before wipe/open beta to build a ST deck

Who's Jarre and why is he the best character?

Jarre is a weak beta nerd from mother Nenneke's temple school. He falls in love with Ciri although she doesn't care for him.

He secretly joins the temerian army against Nenneke's wishes out of a sense of patriotic duty and his feelings for Ciri. He gets assigned to the Poor fucking Infantry, the peasant reserve regiment and has to fight at the battle at brenna, the biggest battle in the war against Nilfgaard. He is ordered to hold of a numerically larger elite force with his comrades, with no combat experience and only a pike as his weapon. He even had to stand in the 2nd row. He survived, but got his arm cut off. During his way home he met his future wife, with whom he had many kids. He spent the rest of his life as a respected historian, writing many important books.

Needless to say, Jarre is /ourguy/. The beta who made it.

>He survived, but got his arm cut off.
Which reminds me Rusty and Iola are also missing from the card roster. Stitch red to red, yellow to yellow, white to white and everything will be all 'rite fuck you Ciri for killing them both ;_;

>Jarre is /ourguy/

what happened to Craven

That's all good in theory but we'll all be long gone from old age before the game is anywhere near released

I mean it's most likely coming out this year and open beta is in 2 weeks.

its 100% not in 2 weeks

Why's that?

because they said that they will announce it one month earlier

They already announced that the season is ending in late may last month.

Granted that isn't the same thing as announcing open beta, but I can't imagine that they'd end the ranked season and then wait a month to start open beta.

ded

How do you use Johnny?

you hope the opponent reads it 3 times and still doesn't understand it

use it to replace dead cards like ciri

Play a card like Ciri or Ocvist or Ciaran
After they return to your hand they are useless so you play Johnny and banish them, after which you will get another gold/silver card from your opponent's or your hand which will most likely be better.

Craven died and got himself banished. Then he got into a necromantic ritual. Craven is of course also a beta, but at least Jarre made it.

Craven is proof gamefags will never make it
Jarre, on the other hand, proves that bookbros are going to make it

>am a bookbro
>already made it
Checks out. I genuinely wish good luck to you all though.

I'm on the verge of making it and I've read the books as well

Congratz m8. I mean it.

Thanks, man

Magic duels stands at 2k~3k players online on steam all the time, but according to /v/ its ded game

I can't wait to see these HS "pros" sans lifecoach getting obliterated by some randoms. I only wish that LC makes it to the next round at least. Makes the tournament a little bit more exciting.

Magic Duels is quite bad. But according to steamspy there are more than a million accounts so it's definitely not ded. Elder scrolls legends is a game I would definitely call dead.

MD is really THAT bad.
I agree that at release it was the buggiest shit out there, but they patched most of it.
>still cant alt+tab
;_;

Man I can't stress enough how much I hate TESL. I love TES almost as much as the witcher, so seeing this game outsourced to a literally who tier company, with shitty generic MMO artwork and graphics straight out of 2007 really hurts.

Imagine CDPR announcing that they withdraw from making games and focussing on witcher-themed pachinko machines instead. That's how I feel about TESL.

There are definitely some things I like about it, but in general it feels too low effort for me. I quite like the idea of having one huge magic format spanning multiple years without any form of rotation. The balancing of this game is spot on. Too bad the campaigns, UI, music, quests, etc suck.

> swim got invited to Challenger for no fucking reason

Why CDPR bothers with him anyway?

who?

Pretty sure they invited all the streamers who visited in January back for the tourney. Why they did that? I have no idea.
The only other streamer just randomly there that I know of is kingblacktoof.

Also, what the fuck is wrong with Swim? That stream they did earlier was awkward and cringey as fuck, entirely due to him.

Probably legit autism.

>creepy smile
>creepy voice
>long, creepy eye contact
>cannot sit straight while streaming, thus constanly looking like a basement dweller whose second home is his desk chair
>creepy forced jokes
>dresses like a slob

He comes off as a sexual predator. That's why he's so fucking awkward.

I also don't know why his stream is so popular. Compared to the other big names, he has zero charisma.

Probably because he often tries out meme decks. But on the other hand, megamogwai and some others do it just as often as swim, with the added bonus of not being a creep.

They reveal stuff about the open beta to him. He then in turn reveals it to us some time during the next week. It's not rocket science.

How do I gain exp? unranked games gives me nothing, and ranked are locked

So what do y'all think about the possibility of new factions? Yay or nay?

You do get exp from casual games. Only if you win a round though. Either you are losing every game, you only play AI matches or you have a bug.

Flotsam faction when????????

Bug it is then. Fugg

Nevermind, im an idiot.
After every game i clicked 'exit' instead of 'next page'

Some possible new factions

>Eternal Fire
Is the one possible faction I want to see because it actually has a sizeable amount of characters to choose from. If CDPR decides it will be a part of NR, I won't complain though.

>Toussaint
goes into Nilfgaard as confirmed by CDPR

>Ofier
I don't know why ledditors always mention this in every thread about new factions. It's a generic oriental fantasy theme park with no lore. Would be boring as shit.

>Zerrikania
Same as above

>Witchers
I actually saw this requested multiple times. All around terrible idea.

>Wild Hunt
Another reddit idea
They have 7 named characters in the entire saga. Good luck with that faction.

>Splitting dwarves and elves
So instead of one flavourful ST faction we have two half baked ones. Great idea.

ST is without a doubt the most annoying faction. Because they are almost impossible to control while they have all the mechanism to control your ass, gain card advantage and milk you out of resources.

If they didn't exist the game would be far less annoying to play.

It would be retarded to wait another week for patch news. I don't care about swim at all. I want news about the content.

Means CDPR won't use the huge amoung of viewers to show new content during the stream today. That's retarded. They are trying really hard to kill this game.

I think he is hilarious, but in unintended ways specially when he thinks he has it on a lock only to lose it and never recover it. Also I don't know what made him that popular I think it was that after lifecoach starter to stream Gwent some of his audience started to look for another Gwent Streamer and most ended up with Swim.

There are may big inconsistencies with certain characters being featured in some of the current decks.

Like Zoltan and Yarpen being ST. In the novels, they hated the guts out of the scoia'tel. Yarpen even fought against them as an ally of Kaedwen. Going with "all dwarves and elves go into the ST deck" was a really stupid design choice.

Also, some sorceresses like Philippa, Sile and Keira bein NR, with the same people that want them burned at the stake. Or other mages like Assire and Vilgefortz being NG. They somehow belonged to those factions, but just as a facade. In truth they followed their own agenda, often against the interest of the countries they "served". Almost all mages should be neutral cards.

ST wouldn't have enough characters without the dwarves. Same with NG and the mages.

The NR mages are fine though. Keira, Triss and Phil took part in the loyalist coup at Thanedd, advised Foltest, Vizimir and Radovid, fought at Sodden etc.

The witch hunts in TW3 are only a phase. Before that they were very much in league with the North.

The only thing that bugs me is Ge'els being a leader while Gaunter O'Dimm is a silver. Especially when there is another Wild Hunt king readily available. Ge'els strikes me more as a gold spy, not as a leader card. The monster leaders should be

>Eredin
>Auberon
>Unseen Elder
>Detlaff
>Gaunter O'Dimm
>Dagon
>She Who Knows

(I think seven leaders for each faction should be the end goal)

you niggas
why do i always have to do everything
May 13th at 3PM CEST the finals of GWENT Challenger Tournament!
on twitch/cdprojektred

What do you guys think about a bandit/renegade faction? There's plenty of those guys both in the games and the books
>Michelet bros
>Salamandra (plenty of possible bronzes too)
>Cicada
>Dmitri's gang
And a lot more

I dunno mate.
If there'll ever be an Eternal Fire faction Salamandra would be a part of it.

Other than that I think Bandits are missing an overarching theme and identity and would be quite boring.

Shrike may fit in there too since she worked with 7 gnomes to rob people for some time.

There should be an aquatic faction, they could be weather specialist or have rain/fog immunity. The fishpeople civilization, kraken, mermaid, sea witch etc would fit in there.

I also think weather immunity should broken down to specific attributes, frost/fog/rain immunity but not all of them. The whole thing should be reworked anyway.

>aquatic faction
With which characters though? That's all monster territory. What's the next idea, peasant faction?

Fishpeople and mermaid are intelligent creatures, not monster though.

It's a fucking underwater civilization, I'm sure they can cook up a bunch of classes for them.

Trolls, Vampires, Wild Hunt, etc. are also intelligent. Do we need a faction for each creature type now? A faction for each Northern Realm, each Island of Skellige, Each Nilfgaardian province, each elder race?
Next up, amoeba faction

Plantlife faction WHEN

Bad idea. The entire witcher vibe goes out of the window when the cards start being made up make believe shit for the sake of filling an arbitrary faction

That'd be good argument except there's not a single fucking aquatic creature/faction in the game they're supposed to out number land creatures 3 to 1.

>there's not a single fucking aquatic creature
Dagon

Vodyanoi basic cards will come in the future for monsters. We already have leaked siren card art. Don't worry, the known water creatures get their own cards too

That'd be good argument except there's not a single fucking amoeba creature/faction in the game they're supposed to out number all other life forms 3000000000 to 1.

AMOEBA FACTION WHEN

>Challenger stream starts in one hour

Trump getting BTFO will be delicious.

not sure if hes bad or just unlucky
i won twice against him already

The factions of gwent are all meant to be related to the greater conflict in the witcher series. Which relevance do some mutated fish have in relation to the Nilfgaard-Nordling Wars? Or the racial tension in the North? Or the Skellige-Nilfgaard sea battles? Or the Witch Hunts? Or the plight of the commoners with the increasing monster population during wartime?
