if you what a good mod for il2 1946 you should check out BAT, its a huge compilation of mods that litteraly make il2 covers the whole history of air combat from 1910 to the late 1990, but be advised the mod is quite big (a dozen of gigs) but the installation is straightfoward and well documented.
