I like to see it this way.
If SFV gets moderate but not overwhelming success, and the execs at Capcom are not so satisfied with the direction they took with this game and they'll change cards for the next game, that's positive.
If SFV's "success" inside the eSports route convinces not only the execs at Capcom but many other execs of other companies that work on fighting games that this is the direction fighting games will take from this moment, that will be the moment fighting games are beginning to take a new direction, and that direction will be very scary for the entire genre.
At the end of the day, if you don't like SFV you just don't play SFV, but when the success in the eSports scene becomes so much it starts to touch other fighting games as well and becomes the new standard for all fighting games, it will be an issue for the entire genre.
