If only there were other decks as effective as Dragon or Shadow. Sure, there are a few other viable decks right now, but it's like tiers in fighting games. You could spend all your time playing a low/mid tier character and struggling your way up ranked, or you could just play a top tier character and body almost everyone with very little problem. That's the problem right now. Aggro Shadow is just too easy and faster to win with most of the time and makes playing other decks seem like a waste of time.

Never, as long as cards like bahamut, themis and lightning blast exist. You are NEVER getting to keep your free board.

Just look at shadowlog if you want to see that this expansion is indeed worse than the last. I don't mean winrates, just the number of games played in the same period. Shit's far lower than RoB, which means people aren't even bothering to play the game.

The only exception are master matches because of the current season rewards.

Cygames failed to build up a tournament scene in the west by first giving the reigns to the faggot excelsior, then hiring literal whos (whom don't even play the game) as their official casters, and by not making it a seasonal tournament with a big prize pool (you get 3k vials for winning lmao).

Whoever is handling Gwent did it right by waiting until the game came out of beta and then dropping a $100k tourney to build exposure and hype.

Seconded. I've never even played Gwent before but tuned in just because some user here was shilling it and it turned out kinda interesting. Production values definitely a lot better than SV streams and the casters helped me understand the game (somewhat).
